How do I create a custom story? Please read description before answering

I have seen the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jFnEk7peTE&t=140s that explains modding for Amnesia games. I tried downloading/installing CodeLite and CodeLiteColorSettings from https://wiki.frictionalgames.com/page/CodeLite and I use Winzip to unzip files. However, when I try to open the CodeLiteColors it says I need an app to open it (I'm on Windows 10).

I have never modded before. I thought it would be more straight forward, maybe building on pieces of a level with no coding experience necessary. Kind of like clipping things together like in a Fallout 4 settlement build or like on Subnautica. I need help getting started with the actual programs and making sense on how to install them onto my computer and make them run. The YT video skips that part because they already have them installed. I don't mean to be dumb, just never done this before. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

for me i didnd't used codelight, i tried but ♥♥♥♥ that

i used like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ notepad to edit the hps files, you just change the encoding in notepad to do ur things, you need to save manually though
