Rebirth very heavily relies on you having played Dark Descent prior, but I'd say A Machine for Pigs and The Bunker are both games that can be played on their own just fine. The Bunker does have some definite nods to past entries, but nothing so severe that you're going to be lost in any major capacity.
Besides, this game is easily the most gameplay focused of the series. You could skip over every non essential note and I'd reckon you'd still have a very good time.
because, there is no much story, The game is about gameplay mechanics: and those are the best in the series.. the game is true immersieve sim
