Yes, I'm playing on Hard.
Two pulls is enough. Any further than that is pointless.
One pull = 3 seconds duration.
Two pulls = 30 seconds duration.
Three or more = No effect.
So surely one pull is quieter than two, right? Also, does the flashlight make noise when it's on or only when you rev it?
I'm trying to figure out if it could be worth it to maybe crank the light once when the beast is nearby just to help get my bearings for a moment, but not if it makes the same amount of noise as winding the crap out of it. I would assume that since the developers made the first crank last so little, it probably actually doesn't make nearly as much noise.
Outside of the walls? So it can't hear the flashlight if it's in the walls?
Well, I've already searched Maintenance, the Prison, and most of the central area and I definitely don't think it hears *every* noise. For example there's a lot of wooden debris on the ground but I seem to be able to push it around without much issue, and footsteps while crouched don't seem to make much noise unless the beast is directly in contact with you It'll be interesting to see exactly how nuanced the system really is.
