Rather than the game being not scary the problem is with some people, they lack the ability to get scared by what’s not real. Either for lack of fantasy, immersion, or something else.
Either way, it does indeed sound like a bother. Part of the thrill in horror is feeling scared, if the game doesn’t illicit that response then half the fun’s gone.

The game wasn’t really scary. It has some tense moments but nothing that makes you feel like moving forward is difficult.

I played the first Stalker and a little bit in the subsequent parts, but I don't remember a single scary moment there. The situation with the Bunker is completely different, I just started playing it and immediately felt the atmosphere of horror, the game keeps in suspense just like Alien Isolation and Outlast. So far, I am delighted with the Bunker.

Nah alien isolation was definitely a different bread as to what I saw another comment about lack of fansty etc and such I think it’s 50/50 some games like this one don’t get me scared or like nervous but I enjoy the atmosphere & tone of everything but I know because it’s not apart of my fears darkness and such is no problem now let’s jump to soma I hate spiders , I hate water (fear of not being able to breathe or defend myself from whatever lurks) & small tight spaces the first half of soma I was like “woah” but when we deep sea dive and walk through the cave with the thousands of those spiders crabs clicking and crawling all over while it was small & dark and the lights were messing up on the suit yeah I had to stop and take a break I was gassed as a ♥♥♥♥♥ and it still made me panic because of the fear of being stuck in a moment like that I believe it’s all just the mental if you hate heights and play a vr game that’s way up high you’ll freak horror or not horror some things just hit our mental different

Of course Alien Isolation is a different game, but they are similar in some basic gameplay elements and the ability to cause a sense of anxiety, and sometimes even scare, and I am sure that the Shellshocked mode will put the finishing touches to the Bunker turned into a real masterpiece of horror.
Regarding SOMA, I can only say that I love water and spiders, and I quickly abandoned the game, because it's not scary at all and it has too primitive gameplay.
