Since you can shoot locks, can you get soft locked?

I likely won't get to play this until I upgrade my PC, but I wondering, is there any real risk of getting softlocked due to needing to say, shoot a lock?

I presume there are workarounds but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. (I also presume there's no melee unlike Penumbra?)

Yes, there are workarounds/alternative ways to get rid of the locks if you run out of ammo at a given moment. So don't worry.

Also OP there is no melee weapons. Although you do get fragmentation grenades, molotovs, gas grenades, explosive and gas barrels to use as a means of defense. Just be aware, defending yourself makes the beast stronger and angrier.

It seems you don't need to shoot locks, I was able to smash one open with a brick in the demo.

the brick isnt in the full game so you are forced to shoot it

Grenades also work and also the monster, and bricks making a lot of sound near a door you want in and them hiding away from the door the monster will break it down for you.

Apparently I'm "soft locked" at the very first door. I can aim right at the lock, fire twice and run out of ammo; it refuses to break.

You can also throw bricks at the door.

On shellshock mode you start with no weapon it is possible to complete the game without using them.

I think there are even 2 bricks where the soldiers hands you the weapon.

In shellshock I think the lock is not there but also no bricks.

Where are the bricks.? I have not seen any and I cant move on with this story because I cant break down the doors. Thanks
