It would require more work than decoupling the game from the framerate because for a proper VR game, you are re-developing the entire game to make it work properly in VR. And despite what the VR modding communtity will tell you, VR players are incredibly demanding when it comes to a paid product and expect Alyx-level interaction (at the minimum!) and detail.
Especially this one because the engine is custom, not an unreal engine like many games for which there is a VR mod for.
Let me talk to you, I think you have the wrong impression.
