How long do gas grenade traps last?

I swear these things just don't stop.

They last a good minute, level spawned gas canisters seem to last the longest in my experience. Once you acquire the gas mask this is actually a good thing.

Yes it seems to be for all eternity. I'm sitting here frustrated knowing the monster cheats and will just come kill me what seems to be long before this INFINITE GAS CANISTER is finished emptying it's somehow LITERALLY INFINITE CAPACITY to piss me off.

Edit it's been ten minutes before I posted this comment. Ten minutes staring at a leaking canister wondering why the game cheats so bad when it's already difficult enough.
