The gun mechanics!!

Magazine chamber check, individual reloads. CAN ANYONE recommend more games like this with such features? ( some in my knowledge are - Metro exodus, Escape from Tarkov Ready or Not)

reciever and its sequel are pretty much 'in depth gun mechanics' taken to 11, though at the cost of the games being pretty simple otherwise

I can also vouch for Receiver 1 and 2. They are the epitome of needing to really KNOW your weapon to be effective with it, in video game form. The story and other mechanics are simple, but combined with the gun mechanics, everything comes together to form a fairly solid concept.

Just buy Receiver 2. It has a playable Receiver 1 in it.

If you like realistic gun handling consider buying a VR set, my friend has a Quest 2 and it seems solid for the price. Gmod has a realism phase or some ♥♥♥♥ where a lot of addons are made with good weapon handling in mind, so if you own that game you could just download a map, some baddies, the right addons and have at it.

I liked the receiver suggestion. I think VR are optional accessories at the moment and we can still enjoy good games with good mechanics. VR is a different experience.

Alien: Isolation

The one that comes to mind is "Stay out of the House" by Puppet Combo. Suprprisingly, it has way more in common with new Amnesia than one might think. There's even a bunker in both games. And a single savepoint. And they both allow free exploration. And, of course, revolver works exactly the same in both games, down to "two shots to scare him away". Mind you, "Stay out..." came out about a year before Amnesia.
