How does the monster work with the generators on and off?
I know this has been discussed multiple times but I wanted to gather what other players have gathered so far about how the monster works. I'm going to share the main points what I have noticed but treat these with grain of salt because these are just my observations:

Generator off:
- The Beast patrols often and randomly
- He stays out way longer and appears more frequently
- He is more likely to use the tunnels to relocate during patrol instead of retreating
- He is somewhat less irritable and less reactive to certain noises
- He is somewhat more oblivious to the player's presence (this does not mean he is ignoring you but less likely to keep track of you)

Generator on:
- The Beast doesn't patrol at all
- He doesn't stay out long if he comes out of his tunnels
- He is more likely to retreat to his tunnels instead of relocating
- He is more irritable and more sensitive to noises
- He keeps track of you much better meaning that he will more likely to appear near of your current location if he is forced out of hiding.

Weird take: I generally felt like that both that the game's difficulty doesn't really increase or decrease depending on the generator's but the game becomes a different experience altogether. I think that generator's running gives this false sense of security hence more players think that the generator's on makes the game easier (well definitely it does with the lights on, it makes the navigation much easier). I also noticed that while the monster is out of hiding he relies much more on his sight and while he is in the tunnels he is more noise sensitive. Of course even when he is out he will react to noises but generally speaking when he is patrolling the dynamo fleshlight is much safer to use but loud noises will make him instantly search the nearest tunnel and relocate to the center of the noise.

That's all what I wanted to share. I'm curious what you guys think and what you experienced.

I always turned on the generator when I wanted to do a quick sprint in and out of somewhere because it seemed like the monster didn't care as much about the noise caused by my sprinting. And if he did spawn, he would not patrol long with the lights on so I'd wait it out and then I'd sprint back to base easy peasy

Turning on the generator definitely helps out in more ways then just navigation.
