How do you make a map in this game?
There's a whole thing in the main menu for workshop content but there's only a handful of maps currently uploaded. I'm really curious about map making for this game but it's kind of hard to find information on what to do since it's so new.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Edit :

So I did find the level editor it's a program in the local files of the game so you don't have to download anything.

I'm able to find YouTube tutorials for the level editor but they're using it to make maps for other games while I'm only interested in this one (but I haven't found any tutorials for it yet).

I'm currently trying to figure out how to find the right models because it seems pretty straight forward just dragging and dropping models, but I'm unable to find any actual wall or floor models. That's what I'm stuck on for now.

Reports are unclear.
you need to replace the id in the swd file to upload a map
to make a map you need to make a map (duh)
then upload the map contents in the maps folder
also you need to make a folder like the custom map folder

Not sure if there's a new level editor for HPL2.5 but --after only a brief glance at the documentation-- it looks like you might just follow the documentation for HPL2 on the wiki here: https://wiki.frictionalgames.com/page/HPL2/Tutorials

And the various editor tools are included in the installation folder for this game.

Okay no I think whatever editor is used for games after Amnesia 1 and 2 (i.e. this, SOMA, and Rebirth) are different and have like no documentation. You can probably infer a lot of the functionality of the level editor from reading the HPL2 stuff. It looks fairly similar to other level editors as well.

Thanks, these were much needed.

Yeah I was asking where do you make a map because googling it doesn't really yield any results. But I've found the level editor in the local files now so I have a bit of what I was asking for.

Thanks this is pretty much what I was asking in my original question and it helps, now I just have to figure out how the level editor itself works. I think it's HPL3 and I can find tutorials on it but they don't show how to make anything for this game specifically which leads to some problems i'm not sure how to fix.

I have no idea how to place a functioning monster but a static one is somewhere in the lists somewhere if you look long enough

at one point in the game you find a map of the bunker or at least a decent chunk of it. However theres no legend so nothing is marked out. This game really doesnt want to hold your hand at all.

This thread is about creating maps yourself with the editor lol.
Still good information though!
