game stuck in a cube like resolution

my friend was tired of constantly having to hold the CTRL key to crouch, i told him to change it to W so that when he goes forward he automaticly crouch, now his game bugged and he cannot play normally as his screen is stuck in a square shape instead of the rectangular one of a normal screen
