Can't join friends

basically when i accept invites or try and join a public game it "attempts to join server" then takes me back to home page

Close the game, right click on the game, properties, installed data, check data.

But I dont know if this is the solution

How do you invite friends when you are in vr and your friend are using a pc?

Has anyone found a fix to this, I figured to disable firewall and test if it works without it and it did but i dont want to leave my firewall disabled everytime i play.
