Part 1

When Update?

We don't know however, Fancy is still working hard on it
If I were to estimate I would say anywhere from 2-6 months

Why is it taking so long?

Unfortunately, Fancy is a single developer who is working on this game while attending college and working part-time. The update is expected to be a full release, meaning that he is laying the groundwork for future support of the game. He is also planning to release ETB on consoles after this update, meaning it needs to be optimised.
Don't worry he is still working really hard on it to make it as good as he can get it however that does take time.

When is VR coming back?

VR is likely to re-release after next update however this is unconfirmed

How to I suggest an improvement to the game?

Part 2

How do I fix my game?

To fix common bugs such as Multiplayer not working, Game not launching, interactableas not interacting etc.:
Verify the integrity of your game files by right-clicking on Escape the Backrooms and selecting properties, installed files, then verify the integrity of game files.
If this doesn’t work try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

How do I fix in-game voice chat?

If your friends can’t here you make sure that push-to-talk is turned off under audio settings in-game
If that fails open settings (on your device), go system>sound, and make sure your input device is set to the one you want to use.

Why does my game have a black box around it? or Why is my game fuzzy?

Under settings click game and turn the VHS effect off

How do I report a bug?

Join the official discord server https://discord.gg/fancygames and report it in the channel titled Escape the Backrooms.

Part 3

How do I delete a save?

Type this into you devices search bar:
C:\Users\editdata\AppData\Local\EscapeTheBackrooms\Saved\SaveGames
Then delete any save files you don't want. You can also use this to duplicate a save by copying it.

Can I play with my controller/Steamdeck?

While both aren’t officially supported it is possible to play with Steam Deck. However, you need to select a button to jump in Steam’s Overlay controller settings.
Controller support is likely to be added when ETB is added to consoles.

How do I play in VR?

Vr has been temporarily disabled due to bugs and is expected to be re-released after the next update. If you still want to play it, try following one of these two tutorials; however, I recommend waiting for the next update or, if you brought the game just for VR, refunding it.

1. First, go to Steam, right click on Escape the Backrooms and then click Properties. Then set the launch parameters of Escape the Backrooms to "-opener" by pasting -opener into launch parameters.

2. Download the Vortex Mod Loader, which is an application to launch games, and the Interpose Mod Loader Mod for Escape the Backrooms from the Nexus Mods website from the links below.

3. Open the Vortex Mod Manager and add your install of Escape the Backrooms, so you can then go ahead and import the Interpose Mod Loader mod into the app, ( You can also go back to the Nexus Mods website and redownload the Interpose Mod Loader with the Vortex Mod Manager download button which will automatically put the mod in the Vortex Mod Manager app).

4. On the top left of the Vortex Mod Manager app, you should see the Escape the Backrooms banner and a play button; click the play button. This will open the game, which now should be in VR mode.

5. Your friends will need to download the Interpose Mod Loader mod as well if they are playing in VR. If they are playing on PC they do not need to change the launch parameters (step 1) and they don't have to use the Vortex Mod Manager to install the mod. They can just do it manually, however it is easier to use the Vortex Mod Manager instead of doing it manually.

6. Once in the game, head to the multiplayer tab, and the VR-playing friend will host a PUBLIC GAME. If you set it to private you won't be able to invite friends, since for some reason you can't on VR. Then your friends can all join using the public lobby loader in the game. The host needs to be the VR player

Note: The reason why VR was removed was because it was very buggy.

About VR. It was taken off even though it worked well. I played it. "Will be a part of next update" does not say anything at all. What update?

Its a scam to sell it with VR compatible in the tile and then just take it out. I bought it solely for that purpose
