How do I stop hounds from camping a single area?

Hounds keep camping the generators, and when I use a flashlight, they just run into a wall and stay there.

Just wait for them to walk away

You can lure them into a different area if they're in your way. I also noticed that they often will despawn if you use the flashlight on them enough times.

They do that on singleplayer, easy, and normal mode. But on hard and nightmare mode you can only flash them once

what the heck does "only flash them once" mean? Every single time I've asked about hounds, people always mention that on hard and nightmare you can "only flash them once" in that exact same way.

On easy and normal you can stun them an infinite number of times

that seems like an unnecessary difficulty step up from normal
hounds really do stink

I don't think they're that bad. I mean, the difficulty IS called hard.

funny fact I actually beat Level 3 on Hard with my friend the other day. What I didn't realize is that once they lose track of you, they can be stunned again. It's just that once they know where you are, they can only be stunned once so you can get away.
