I went Plank starting item, and aimed for 3 planks, 3 mini-gun/SMG/Shotgun long term.

My healing turrets were healing for 15 each and I found an item that gave them +150% attack speed (new item that speeds up turrets based on your attack speed).
Killed the 3 elites and final bosses in seconds because +ranged damage is quadrupled.
I wouldnt call the class particularly strong though. High B-tier. Extremely reliant on getting Ranged Damage above all else, so kind of an RNG class.
Extra stomach seems great in this exact build.... I gained 280 max health from it on the new Glutton.
I used Laser guns which used to be bad but do a good job here.
Not enough DPS to deal with especially bosses quick enough, and gets no bonuses to survivability.

These are the stats you need lol. Thanks to Eggplant tip, I realized that Gentle Alien is not merely +5% more enemies and +5% money in return, its +15% more money (tripled compared to the base) thanks to the buff. You really need those items. And Lasers are the way to go, forget about anything else (yay Lasers finally useful).
Luck dmg dealing items are good if you go for higher Luck stat, since there are relatively few enemies and tons of money which means all the dmg is concentrated on a few enemies.
Still a bad class, maybe not really garbage tier but its down there for sure.
Jack is just pure downside.
I don't even know why enemies also deal bonus damage. The fact that they have so much more health makes them far more likely to catch you or block you way to damage you than normal enemies. They already, in effect, deal more damage from the HP buff.
If they intend him to be a challenge character, for runs intentionally even harder than normal, then he should be jammed at the back of the roster with the Danger unlock characters. Because it seems like he's supposed to be in that nebulous average with everyone else.
