Arms Dealer is so close to being a great character
Yet he is held back by RNG. If he was sort of like Gladiator, where he could only use one weapon type (in this case it would be ranged), he would be much more consistent an a lot more fun and less frustrating to play. If that means he has to be tuned down to balance, that is fine.

My RNG luck is very bad with him. I'm sure it's just me, but I did 5 runs with him and all ended between round 12 and 16 because I just got nothing remotely powerful. Even with luck above 100 all I got were some normal weapons. Any tips on that character?

focus on melee or Ranged
Lock Weapons in Shop for next round

Arms Dealer - The character with 1-3 weapons 4 if you get lucky
He is trash atm.
He either needs 5 free spins, or he needs to keep 2 weapons, or get the full money value back for the weapons that he loses (pre 95% discount)

Focus on attack speed and harvesting early on. And u need a 2nd soucre of dmg. like baby elephant + cyberballs (at least 2-3 of both) , 2 rips and tears, bandana + baby with beard.

If possible start round 2/3 with 6 weapons of support 2-3 hands + 2+3 taser should.

I don't like Arms Dealer because Rerolls get really expensive really quickly, 1 Dangerous Bunny barely helps with how much he needs to reroll the shop.

Which is why you buy Dangerous Bunnies as they come up. They inevitably pay for themselves with the Arms Dealer.

I have put a few hours into arms dealer with no joy. Get to rnd 15 or so and get offered lvl1 tasers and a shield or similar all level 1 gear. Last run was getting up over 60 material for a re-roll only to be offered a lvl 1 shield.

Haven't been offered a bunny or cyber ball or rip n tear or bandanna or baby and only 2 baby elephants in last hour and half worth of gaming.

RNG gods hate me hahahahaahaahaha

I love this game!!

Same here. One bad round of rolls and its over and you can do absolutely NOTHING about it. You can minimize the risk but if the game wants you dead you are done. I have all character on D 5 but this one simply does need luck and nothing else - which i heavily dislike.

It needs buff. Like You said, pure luck nothing more. You can have 19 waves good but on 20 you just simply get nothing and you are dead. #oddlyspecific

Just lock a weapon in your build every wave post wave 10. So basically, you are looking for 7 weapons instead of 6 each wave. My win rate on D5 is really high w/ this class. Yes, I've had a few blunders in wave 20 where I got nothing but garbo weapons and I ran out of money to reroll, but it's pretty rare. If you go for really high damage %, then you can grab either range or melee which makes it easier. I do tend to do mostly ranged builds, but focusing on damage % gives you greater flexibility if in case the shop isn't favoring you.

His problem is obvious. It relies on too much RNG. I've reached round 20 on danger 5 and died. It's because I can't find over tier 3 weapons even though my luck was 70 on round 18. Then, before round 19 is impossible to find good weapons since I couldn't beat enemies in the previous round. It's like a "something goes bad, then you die" character. It's fun thought.

It doesn't need a buff. It needs a rework. This is the only character I refuse to d5. It doesn't provide any challenge, instead you'll have to simply grind until you get a good shop rolls. Screw it.

I kind of agree here. I have every other character done at D5, but after about 2 dozen tries with arms dealer I can't do it.

Not only is he extremely RNG based, he also commits the sin of not being fun. I spend so much money re-rolling for weapons, I barely have any left to actually buy things to get stronger. He feels like he's going backwards sometimes.

I appreciate how unique the character is, how it plays differently, but it isn't working for me. By far my least favorite brotato.

What are you doing for waves 1-10ish? I ask this b/c I get gobs of items during this period b/c weapons are so cheap. I don't care what i pick up, I pick up the first 6 I see for dirt cheap, so then all of my money goes to items. On a normal run, I'm never going to have 6 weapons by wave 3 yet that is very likely to happen w/ this class which means you probably get even more money than you normally would b/c of the added dps. I usually am way more powerful w/ this class than most of the others by the time I hit wave 13-14. I hammer harvest and luck early and take every +12 damage% - 12 range b/c of the added 25% damage bonus and giving the additional benefit of having more options b/c I can take range or melee in a bind. I just had another winning run w/ this class on D5 and I felt like this was one of my worst rng runs in a while.

I posted a suggestion for a similar character on the Discord a couple weeks ago:

Character: Tinkerer
* At the end of each wave each of your weapons is replaced with a random weapon of the same tier.
* +2 Melee Damage, +1 Ranged Damage, and +1 Elemental Damage for every 3 Engineering you have.
* Some kind of downside to balance it, if needed.
(It should probably exclude Pacifist weapons from what it can randomize into, so you can't end up with 0 dps by getting 6 Hands / Potato Throwers)

I'm a little biased, but I think this would have been a more fun character to play. Being able to get all 3 flat damage stats from Engineering would allow you to make every weapon type usable, and you wouldn't to have reroll every shop over and over to get your 6 weapons each wave, which IMO isn't very fun.
