Attack speed vs damage (% damage)
It is me or sometimes it feels like AS upgrades deal more danage than, well, damage itself?

It does. See damage is percentile. So if the base weapon has a fairly average to low damage, the damage % doesn't matter as much. Infact, Ranged, Melee and Elemental seem far more influential in terms of ACTUAL damage compared to % damage. But, make no mistake, it still does affect things, especially with a large modifier at the start or added on. (Both directions)

Attack speed is nice, but some weapons REALLY drop off hard without some damage to back them up. But other weapons, do fairly well with it.

Base damage is far better vs % generic damage increase since the flat damage seems to be calculated before the generic % damage increase.
With attack speed it really depends on the weapons you're using/gonna use. Fast attacking weapons don't really need it while slower ones do.

Overall the priority that i got by is 1. Flat damage and/or attack speed (depends on how it feels in the field), then later on +% damage.
Also make sure to fill out your weapon slots first too.

Damage increases the base %. The melee/range adds that number to the damage. Attack speed is a % of number of attacks. Depending on the weapon depends what you want to go with first. Low base damage does better with the flat increase, high base damage with % and speed always helps.

Critical is also very good.

Overkilling enemies isn't useful. Attack speed lets you kill more enemies in a way that caps later than damage.

Between attack speed and damage you should generally upgrade whichever is lower.

If you already have damage +100%, adding 10% only really adds 5%. Similarly if your attack speed is -50% reducing it another 25% cuts it in half.

But for the big ranged attack upgrades (ricochet and penetration) it's a good idea to have more damage built-up before you take them. Since they can knock it down to next to nothing.

Attack speed is based/(1+%attack speed).
Damage dealt per hit is (weapon/item base +(flat damage x weapon mod))*%damage for everything but turrets and mines.

The exact ratio depends on the Brotato after all attack speed useless for Bull.
