I have a question about the progression

I'll log in when I get home to see if anything new has been unlocked. Does the death screen always show that stuff? I'm just wanting a cheater way to see it all so I don't have to last 16 days.

Just do it the real way. It's honestly not that hard. My long run I went from the beach islands all the way across the beach one chest per day until I had pistol, knife, and musket. I then just collected wood during the days and made piles with fire starters and kindling . Gamer pro tip: don't put all your wood in one pile. Had a piece of burning wood do the crumble and it knocked the fire into my wood pile. It all went to waste. Anyway. I slowly and methodically explored the island and made camps along the way. I then looped back around, lived in the swamp for a bit, lived at the wreck, lived back in the beach. Once I ran out of ammo and chests to resupply I then started the bonfire build to burn myself alive.

Do it. It's easy. Not burning yourself. That was kinda hard.

Ya it isnt hard its just time consuming when i unlock everything and die to get the stuff i unlocked then when new items come out i have to do it all again

Ain't that the truth. When I started I hit 15 days but they didn't have the musket and/or something else updated in yet, so I didn't get it as a reward. But once the game updated I got it. This time around...nope. Nothing new unlocked. Also, what am I supposed to do with the bench and barrel? They don't burn and stabbing them with a knife does nothing...and the game is now launching my camp coconuts when I walk too far away and return.

Hey, we previously had some bugs relating to unlocked items not appearing but these should be fixed by now. Are you saying that you survived more than 15 days and the new items did not unlock? Somebody on our Discord had a similar issue and verifying the game files on Steam (under Properties and Installed Files in your Steam library) fixed the issue. Let us know if the issue persists, so that I can notify the devs.

Are you saying that you survived more than 15 days and the new items did not unlock?

I'm on the top 10 at 68 days. Or at least was. After the update the game despawned my campfire at nightfall so I shot myself. It scrolled to musket and showed the later stuff blacked out. I've got the new sticks, benches, barrels, and baskets. Just no new unlockables.

Thanks. I feel it. But to clarify I hit 68 days and killed myself a couple weeks before the update. Then my first time back in after the update the campfire was despawned. I've noticed some things getting launched when you get far enough away and return to them.

Aha, thank you for the clarification. As a general rule, you only unlock things that you actually see on the deathscreen being unlocked. This way, players have a better understanding on what they have unlocked. With the major patch, wood got completely revamped so some items probably disappeared as they are no longer in the game. Currently the game saves only in the mornings so if you load in you have a full day to make a new fire.

Yeah, I get how the system works. I started playing before the musket. I hit 15 days before it was in the game. I hit 15 days several times in a row and it was never shown as unlocked or on display in the death screen. It just started spawning in game on its own. My point was previously the game unlocked things based on my day count without me having to hit that count after they were added. It didn't my first time back. None of this matters because I hit 34 days and was bored so I killed myself again, unlocking the satchel and book. So I'm back up to having everything unlocked and nothing new to do.
