• Reworked Chest Spawn System – Locked chests can now spawn any items you’ve unlocked, with newly unlocked items appearing more frequently.

• Grab Pull is now the default grab option.

• Chest Rework: All locked chests can now spawn all unlocked items. Fresh unlocks are more likely to spawn first.

• Further optimized landscape & foliage to improve performance and reduce lagspikes

• Guaranteed one day of good weather after killing Seymour

• Guaranteed good weather after cutscenes

• Reduced the chance of unintentionally dropping items while doing fast hand movements or being affected by outside forces

• Fixed cutscene 1 triggering too early in some cases

• Blood Challenger remains on his arena after the player’s death in Story

• Tribe People can now still appear in some regions while the Blood Challenger is active in the Story

• Tribe People can no longer appear during Blood Challenger fight

• Tribe People now flee more smoothly

• Tweaked the shoulder slot placement

• Reduced the Flintlock Pistol’s reappear delay in the tutorial

• Fixed a bug where very high sickness value would result in full health regeneration

• Fixed Start Menu navigation issue when the player moves far away from it

• Fixed a bug that caused instability in Jungle beach area

• Fixed the menu pointers looking unnaturally bright

• Fixed items being automatically placed into satchel/wood sling when forced out of hand

• Fixed an issue where arrows would fail to deal damage on hit

• Fixed an issue where monitor lizards would instantly get gutted or spoiled on death

• Fixed shortcut tree felled status not saving in some cases

• Fixed audio location issues in cutscenes

• Tweaked subtitle timing

• Alignment fixes for the deathscreen

• Added announcement text to the bandolier in Custom Mode

• Added announcement text to the boots

It’s been two weeks since the Full Release, and we’re incredibly grateful for the amazing response from players and creators alike. Your feedback continues to play a vital role in helping us improve the experience.

Hotfix 2 is now live and includes a range of improvements (see Patch Notes below).

Performance-related topics remain our highest priority, and we are actively working on further optimizations. That said, we want to emphasize that if your PC meets the system requirements, you should not experience major performance issues.

The most common causes of performance issues we’ve identified are:

1. Launching with Virtual Desktop (not yet natively supported). TEMPORARY SOLUTION: Until we have a fully functional solution, we’ve provided a separate version for Virtual Desktop users. Access: Right-click the game → Properties → Game Versions & Betas → virtual_desktop branch

2. Render resolution in SteamVR and/or Quest LinkMake sure the resolution is not set above 100%. This is the most common cause of performance issues, and adjusting in-game settings alone will not resolve it.

• Fixed chests sometimes spawning without padlocks and constraints

• Tweaked the tutorial fight timers

• Fixed palm leaves not spawning in certain scenarios (only applies to new saves)

• Tweaked the volume of talking stick SFX

• Increased the size and tweaked the location of the shoulder slots

• Tweaked subtitle timing

• Fixed music not playing in certain areas

• Fixed “Trapper” achievement sometimes not triggering correctly

• Environmental bugfixes and optimization

• Lowered tribe people’s health

• Lowered tribe people’s encounter length values

• Some bow and arrow usability fixes

• Arrows can no longer be inserted into Wood Sling. Existing saves still allow to remove the arrow inside it, but won't allow to insert new ones.

• Fixed end credits being displayed in bold font for some language selections

• Tweaked the scale of the end credits logo

• Fixed “chapter complete" text localization

• Fixed player hands getting wet in cutscenes

• Start menu title screen now fades away after 30 seconds of inactivity (start menu still appears when any key is pressed)

• Crouch capability removed in start menu

• Fixed a game crash caused by chest respawn logic

• Fixed dark water damage not triggering if the game is completed

• We will keep working on the ways to support Virtual Desktop natively. Currently we made a separate version of the game for Virtual Desktop users. Access: Right-click the game → Properties → Game Versions & Betas → virtual_desktop branch → password: virtualdesktop
