Stuck at loading screen

Tried multiple times, and it won't give me press trigger to start at the bottom-right. I played this before though. The last time ended with an out of video memory error (RTX 4090). Using Q3 and VD w/ VDXR.

I'm not sure VD is supported - have you tried without VD, using (Air-)Link?

I have no issues starting the game using Rift CV1 (OpenXR set to Meta in the Meta Desktop App) or Index using OpenXR now set to Steam.

Thank you for writing! We're looking into it. There seems to be a problem with Steam cloud saves possibly. Some players have resolved it by removing them.

Today my game also stopped - I needed to press "resume" in the game's Steam menu, at then the game started normally. Using Index.

Got stuck in same situation yesterday, stuck on loading screen.
Tried again with Steam Link and it worked fine so try that if you can't get in-game.
Hope they fix this soon though because I prefer Virtual desktop over Steam link.

I also only get as far as the loading screen, it loads and loads. Nothing happens. Played for about 3 hours, then crashed and game no longer loaded.

Moved my cloud save into another folder then I could load the game. After about an hour, I got the out of video memory error for the 3rd time. Then I couldn't load the game again. Moved my cloud save into a folder again and still wouldn't load. Then tried also moving persistent_1.sav into a folder, (was no persistent.sav) and it still wouldn't load. I'll just wait for the devs to fix this game.

This is the advice on discord:

Fix to game not loading
go to C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Flintlock\Saved\SaveGames
move steam_autocloud.vdf into another folder
launch game

if game continues to not load

move persistent.sav & persistent_1.sav into another folder
launch game

at this point it should load no matter what and try to generate new save files
if you want to get your progress back you will either have to:

drag persistent and persistent_1.sav files back into the savegame folder
or drag the steam_autocloud save file back into the folder

as of now its pretty hard to tell what does it but it is something with the save files

An extra solution you can try if you where able to get in once but then it stopped working again:
go to the game in your library on steam
click the gear icon on the mid right of the screen
go to properties
Get to the general tab
Under steam cloud disable keep games saves in the steam cloud for bootstrap island

bootstrap island has a persistent.sav that normally stores all game info, disabling steam cloud will only make it so that the save has a small chance of getting corrupted if the drive gets corrupted

Hi, sadly, the stuck on loading screen error is still there. Like it wants me to press a button, but no button works. I've reinstalled multiple times, tried everything. Could you please release another patch or smth. Am I the only one ? I have also tried disabling Cloud saves, makes no difference..

Hi, it seems not like the infinite loading bug, but rather the game not receiving input from the controllers. Are you seeing your hands moving when you are at the loading screen?
