Any group capable of hitting rank 4 for 12 direct damage (not dot) can defeat the second boss. I've done it with more teams than I can remember, since chapter 2 is my go-to place for experiments.

Your team has only Dismas for hitting 4th rank. If he doesn't have a crit token, he might not do 12 damage with pistol shot. You can fix it with emergency combat items (like stimulants), or Jester's Encore skill, or time it very carefully and hope for the best (always take aim when back lung is not in use).

Another way would be to pile up on that lung with PD's blinding gas + finale + pistol shots. Once it's dead, the fight will become trivial for that team.

Lungs are immune to dots (damage over time)

Warlock Occultist -> Deadeye Graverobber -> Sharpshot Highwayman -> Tempest Leper.

If the boss uses "Shallow Breath" on the rear lung - Occ and GR deal with it while HWM and Leper smack the main baddie. If GR crits, dealing enough damage to remove the token, Occ provides support with his debuffs and/or combo tokens.

If the boss uses "Shallow Breath" on the front lung - Leper beats the living you-know-what out of it, HWM and GR focus fire the boss, Occ provides support.

If the boss uses "Deep Breath" - Leper, again, teaches the front lung a lesson, GR hits the rear lung, HWM deals heavy damage to the boss with "Double Tap". And Occ, as per usual, reacts to the current situation: "Abyssal Artillery" if GR doesn't deal enough damage, otherwise provides support.

I wouldn't say it's an ideal comp and I can't say I was 100% prepared. Definetely not. Still, never had to worry about either HP or Stress in this fight. Everything went pretty smooth, albeit a bit slow.

I believe it's 12 damage for the front lung, and 9 damage for the back.

Unless your highwayman is spec'd around point blank shot, he should be able to take out the back lung in one hit unless he gets unlucky. Take Aim for the guaranteed crits will help if he has free turns. PD can probably contribute the 2-3 damage needed if he rolls low.

You can still beat him even without hitting the lungs, but it's much riskier.

Occultist Warlock > Jester > Highwayman Rogue > Hellion Ravager

Hellion: Hack front, iron swan back
Highwayman: Duellist advance, point blank shot with occasional pistol shots for hitting the back or stunning
Occultist: Chaotic offering and burning stars. Healing and cursing when not enough tokens
Jester: Blinding, marking, bleeding and free turns for others (never sure what path is best for this guy)

A friend fought him yesterday and showed that there is a little black line on the health bars of the lungs when they are holding their breath. I used Hellion (hit whichever was breathing in), Highwayman (same as Hellion), Jester, Vestal it looks like. Hit whichever lung was holding its breath, then killed the back lung, then body.

Ravager, Deadeye, Sharpshot and Vestal.

All of these can hit both Rank 1 and Rank 4 for a very decent amount of damage, so it's highly unlikely that you'd ever miss the "deadline" on a filled lung. Have some Milk-Soaked Linens for extra safety.

Take the back lung out first, then you can start working on the boss.

Vestal / HM / MAA / Hellion

Pure dmg is very safe bet against this boss.
Doktor Oktor Jun 9, 2023 @ 9:22am
Vestal / Plague Doctor / Highwayman / Man At Arms

Works fine.

Went in with Plague Doctor, Jester, Grave-robber, & Flagellant. Only the Flagellant made it out alive and he pretty much soloed the boss. Toxic Tokens & More, MORE! FTW!
