Request Proton/Wine/Linux compatability
I know it isn't compatible, and I know Activision/Blizzard/Infinity Ward don't read this forum as much as players would like. So I think that maybe sending direct feedback would be better:

Please send them a message if you'd like to make Ricochet compatible with Wine/Proton/Linux :)

Even though Linux is a far more secure OS, it will never be popular enough for companies to spend the extra effort to make it compatible.

Never say never :) Valve has worked with anticheat software companies to make their software compatible.

To give you an example, Easy anticheat has been made compatible with Linux by Epic and Valve: https://dev.epicgames.com/en-US/news/epic-online-services-launches-anti-cheat-support-for-linux-mac-and-steam-deck. This, in turn, made it possible for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Apex Legends, Back 4 Blood, Fall Guys, Dead By Daylight, and others, to be compatible with Proton, and in turn, Linux. Dead by Deadlight was even Steam Deck certified! https://twitter.com/DeadbyDaylight/status/1656345021598121984

So yeah, Activision might not have Linux compatability in their sights TODAY, but without asking them, they might not know about it.

How about they fix the current game than worry about a OS that really isn't that popular with the gaming community.

I understand with Steam deck as it's their product but with the wide variety of LInux distros, which one do you make it the most compatible with? It's really hard for a developer to want to work on something like that, not saying they won't or don't but less likely.

I think the answer would be "Officialy compatible only with steam deck", and let linux users handle the rest.

Guys, I don't know if it's a lot of laypeople or uninformed people, but the majority of Steam games work on Linux, even though they are not implemented for Linux, this is thanks to Proton, which was developed with the help of the Steam developer team, during development. of the Steam Deck operating system (Steam OS). Most of the time the only thing game developers need to do is adjust their anti-cheats to not block Linux, by doing this most games will work without having to "rebuild the game from scratch". If you still have questions about Proton's efficiency, visit the website: https://www.protondb.com

This thread was quite old before the recent posts, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
