dont know too what is SM2
They already have enough competition from XDefiant which they can do nothing about, they're going to hedge every bet they possibly can to maintain their playerbase.
Additionally, even if people weren't hating on MW '22 in droves and saying they were gonna leave for SM2 they would still be entirely in the right to kill that mod because it was actively trying to become the ultimate Call of Duty game and was siphoning assets from every CoD game to achieve this goal.
Regardless of what people want, they legally have to challenge that exact type of thing because if they don't they'll rapidly lose the rights to their IP due to not caring that people are literally just making Call of Duty games and calling them Call of Duty games.
If those guys want to make the ultimate call of duty they should literally just make their own game and mimic the best aspects of CoD to compete with XDefiant and CoD itself that way Activision Blizzard can't do anything about it, it would probably end up being the premiere CoD competitor in no time if they actually know enough about game dev to make their own content.
like it feels very illegal to do that tbh, its one of the rarer cases where activision has like all reasons to take it down
most people humans here would shut down passion project once they realize how much money they loosing and could be making
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not true, the game started with the Mw2 engine but recently (like 2 months ago) they ported it to the MW remastered engine, now it didnt require Mw remastered to play, and it can also be torrented plus they were using assets from a lot of cod games, Activison dont mind the use of very old cod game assets but the Use of MW remastered (2016) engine was too much for them if anything they are legally right.
