Call me old, boomer or whatever, but do you remember the days when COD was a MILITARY shooter.
I am referring back to the 2007 - 2012 era when COD was at its finest. No operator skins, stupid references to trending pop culture and no childish blueprints for weapons. Even the guns themselves had real names and there was no SBMM. I do not know why are we still supporting this husk of a great franchise that once was.

I miss old ground war, the standard maps packed. 32 v 32 is nonsensical because of vehicles, team spawns, airborne spawns and you are such a tiny portion of the team you can't really contribute

They're making billions and they don't care about people like us. They literally shut down every project that kept those old games alive even though it still profited them.

I miss the days where people played war games like proper war games. No bunny hopping like it's fortnight, outlandish slide moves that are unrealistic to combat, riot shields taking more bullet fire than a armored tank and killing in two smacks, so and and so forth.

Yep, I was an MW2 kid, started playing when I was 11 in 2009, some of the funnest times of my gaming life, and BO1 was probably the peak.

oh yeah , the years when it's finest was a PAM MOD or PROMOD and private servers with official ESL mod. COMMUNITY content , same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ developer.

This. Exactly this.

Now we have no flags allowed, unless its gay, or pre-applied to character skin, idiot mode gun prints....WTF happened? Did ActiBlizzard decide they wanted to kill CoD before they sold it?

Anyway guys...There's a shooter set in space, kinder like CoD Ghosts mission which seems to be good, its called Boundary
And a few other FPS games coming out soon that also should be able to replace CoD.

This is the last time I'm touching any sh1te from these devs ever again. More interested in selling reskins than making a good game.

Those original old ones were good games, but if I could pick again which to play it would be the original MW2/3 - those were awesome games. Wish I could had played bigger maps like

Imo, CoD stopped being good with the release of the MW2 in 2009. No more private servers with live admins that would kick/ban campers, griefers, glitchers and cheaters. We had the power to govern ourselves and it was fun and good. This is my first Cod game since MW2 (2009) and it's exactly the same kind of mess like the original. I remember I stopped playing that pile of crap after a longer break and got spawnkilled on Afghan (S&D) with a noobtube over and over again on my 28th birthday. Never touched it again after that and I switched to BF3 / BF4. The franchise was dead to me with no servers and that stupid IWNet bs they had back then. I literally mourn those days, when we had our own servers.
Insurgency and Insurgency Sandstorm also have private servers afaik, but sadly that game never reached the masses.

i really loved the original modern warfare's campaign back in the day , played all of em , now it just doesn't feel the same anymore like they're focusing more on quantity instead of quality .

I played all COD until modern warfare 3 (the 8th game). I did play a little black ops 2 on my friends computer (9th game, the one after MW3) but didn't even finish the first mission on the boat. Saw he played, game was about cartels, alternate endings and complicated story so I kinda lost interest in CoD from that point.

The third game on ps2 was my first COD. Franchise was at its best during the first 2 modern warfare games, world at war and black ops was good, and modern warfare 3 was probably the last of the good ones. The first 3 games were alright, especially 2 where online multiplayer had surprisingly active playerbase back then.

SM2 would have been a good game if Activision had allowed it, but it knew very well that sales of new cod games would drop.
