Game of the year

After I voted for call of duty modern warfare 2 to be nominated for game of the year.. im sad to say it lost on all sub categories. I watched the whole show and promoted people to support my vote but we lost to a couple questionable winners, our multi-billion dollar franchise and the amount of time, effort put into this new game being thrashed to a heavy blow by Splat 3..
even over-watch 2 to some degree will feel hard done by altough they didn't nearly put as much time into there game.. with it being a couple new heroes 1 or 2.. 2 new map on release and it was just a reskin to include a battlepass ultimately is very lack luster. cod was a whole new system

What do you guys think? do any of you watch and was anybody surprised at the best multiplayer decision when watching? I'm just shocked

This game is still fun despite having some flaws in multiplayer, but I'm glad it got beat in all categories. Maybe now devs will actually listen.

Just because a franchise is worth billions doesn't make the current product the "best". Pokemon, MCU, etc, etc. Not everything related to them has been the "best" at anything let alone good.

You're either someone that finds it genuinely wack when their favorite product isn't liked by everyone else, or you're just farming for attention. Not sure which is worse in this case.

Also, I wouldn't take anything the Game Awards or paid reviewers say seriously anyway.

If numbers sold meant "best," then objectively Marvel movie tickets sold would mean they're the best movies ever and nothing comes close.

this comment is dripping with capeshit reddit soy. just because marvel movies release and break every record doesnt mean smaller movies such as the lighthouse arent superior. it sold because of its namesake. and i cannot even say that this awful release and lack of transparency will even effect future sales. however, i will say that the multiplayer list was extremely lacking with competition. at the end of the day, theyre games, not actual competitions used to fill empty lives. it seems Nintendo is the only company who realizes it anymore.

i picked Elden Ring because its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great game not filled with the trash MODERN games have become was hand crafted and didnt hold my hand all day it also got my vote because there was no cash shop battle pass or cosmetic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dlc

i like MW2 but it crashes all day and is a fps
the story is also a rushed mess with a bunch of set pieces you play in and the car chase was not good was more like yea a 10 year old will think this is cool WTF
