This game has to be the most contradictive statement of the year. Almost 50% negative reviews and still more than 200k active players on steam alone. This is a joke right? I wonder what the average IQ is of people using steam. Blaming a game to be bad, to pricey,etc but just keep playing it anyway... Of all the negative reviews just a small portion asked refunds...
What do you think will matter most for the future? Negative reviews or a high playerbase?
As long as companies cash your hard-earned dollars/euros whatever for their effort, they will keep making these B shelf games... this is basic economics... Reviews are just a community feature not a real market changer, not for AAA developers,brands and publishers anyway.
If you want change... do it... not talk about it.

the people who bad review the game have mostly been people who can not play at launch and people who "apparently got false bans" and people who feel the 70 quid price tag isn't reasonable(people who think this probably have no clue how much it costs to make a game like cod in the first place and think everything should be free just because)

people like the game, its not perfect but no game is 3 days in to its life cycle(look at bf2042 its started off a complete ♥♥♥♥ storm and is now becoming a good game)

as for people taking the im not buying stance it doesn't work in the modern world

Its called campaign early access bro. They did it so we cannot refund anymore. Now we wasted 70 euro that shouldve been spent on any other company instead and can no longer refund and now we can start searching what in this game is any fun... i did that and came to the conclusion that every single map in this game is ♥♥♥♥ but it doesnt matter money is burned.

And yes lessons learned, no more call of duty for me. Vanguard was obvious, it didnt take 5 minutes to see that the campaign and multiplayer is awful but Mw2 ... was looking solid at first during campaign got me hyped alot for MP and its disappointing.
Didnt expect that the maps turn out this bad but they did and thanks alot Infinity Ward for serving us your Warzone 2.0 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mapdesign at every gamemode. Glad we playtested ur free 2 play crap for 70€, totaly not feeling ripped off by this company.

I’m not taking a stance I just gave facts. If your products you paid for is not working you send it back if you keep it, the manufacturer of that product will see this as a successfull trade and will make future products the same way until it doesn’t sell anymore. Reviews are a mechanism to warn other potential buyers. But if a large portion of the market already bought the product before reading reviews the only thing keeping this quality of a product to hit the shelves the next production cycle is the low sales count. And it is in modern times more important than before. Because manufacturers are more sensitive for risky investments in hard economic times.

it's almost as though the people who actually enjoy the game or have few issues tend to play it instead of bothering to complain on forums

it's like people aren't a single great mass and the playerbase is made up of individuals who all have their own opinions independent from what you see from reviews, wow what a revelation

How are 20k reviews and 200k playing (only on steam!) mean anything?
If you could read or use that one braincell you have - you could tell that this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugfest with people having the game crash every 10 minutes (with more than enough, or the best hardware out there.)
Only fix for that is to set your GPU drivers back to an older version... because activision is to stupid to release a quick fix.
So of course the game gets bad reviews for that. How can you release a game like that? lul

Also: There are many threads/reviews popping up (steam, activision forums, reddit) of people getting banned for no reason.

All the low IQ people will say things like 'dOnT cHeAt bRo EaSy aS tHaT' - Because your small brains can't comprehend the fact that there is a legit problem with the anti cheat or the game files.
Do you think people like me with a decent steam account, would risk our profile to get branded with a 'game ban on record'? lal

You get banned for 'reparing' your game files via steam and Activison will tell you, you got banned because you 'modified the game files' - While all you did was trying to repair the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ trash they released with a tool given to you by steam - and the game/anit cheat picks it up as 'modified' game files.
Oh, guess what - I ain't banned but this problem exists.

Stop sucking big corpos ♥♥♥♥ and grow a brain & don't talk about 'facts' while all you do is spew ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and crying like a child because people 'downvote' your favorite game.
Bad reviews help but CoD is one of the biggest 'Brands' out there - Even your mom knows about Call of Duty.
So its a 'blind buy' for the avaerage gamer, or mom/dad buying this crap for christmas.
So yea, thats hard to change but still help some people to decide to buy it or not.


Playerbase also doesn't mean anything at all for a 'good' product- Insurgency Sandstorm best example.
2500 Player world wide, one time buy, no battlepass, no nothing - you'll find a server/game every hour of the day and the game gets content with no end in sight.

Dude if i could refund - i would refund (i spent more than 2 hours for singleplayer story). This is worse than BF2042. In BF2042 you can at least outshoot campin (specially snipers) noob (by AK or BSV-M for ex.). Here - one shot from any damn distance and you're dead. And since they camp on roofs, bushes n stuff you cant even react.
This game is trash, totally. One feature that holds me - mods by default, like TDM etc. And hope, that those braindead devs will fix their ♥♥♥♥. Otherwise its the last MW (or even last CoD) me (and my future kids lol) buyin.

the thing is not everyone has the issues those people have, i have finished the SP part of cod and only had 4 issues( 2 crashes caused by steam disconnects and 2 end of mission freeze crashes) in the MP, the game has had 4 crashes, i am level 35 right now, so 8 crashes in around 20 hours isn't that bad IMHO.

as for economic times, its down to you as the consumer to make the correct choice on whether or not you buy a game, if you can not afford it you don't buy it, if you have cash flow and want it then you buy it.

games are sold with the idea that it will be patched each month or so and in time it will be perfect, problem is perfect is different to everyone. same as hardware(except console) is different between each person.

reviews are a broken mess, its been proven so meany times that people will review bomb a game for the stupidest of reasons, i never take reviews as gospel anymore, even top news sites are biased towards certain games. make up your won mind if you think you will like it then buy it if not don't, just don't be a sheep and follow the crowed.

Please... I don't have the game... it's neither my favorite...
I'm 33 years old, I work in international marketing for 10 years, and just for once I posted something with some honest questions and remarks the only thing you get is some slurs of angry people think somebody wants to read their coming-of-age-frustrations.

The amount of reviews will always be a fraction of the actual customers... Has nothing to do with my post... But is still a hard fact that this game is one of the most played games with the most negative reviews as a statistic...
