COD community was always this toxic?

Yo, the first COD I played was CODII for PC, back in 2005. We used to play in lan parties, super fun. Now, feeling nostalgic I decided to hop back and bought this one and OMFG – do I have to mute 10+ people every round I play.

If they're not on a fully blown-out microphone, they are shouting and/or being super obnoxious about some minor whatevers. People insulting teammates or adversaries over literally nothing. And don't get me wrong, it is not teasing nor taunting, it is "I hope your mom dies of ass cancer"; "you suck kill yourself" and similars. Why tho!?

I swear I haven't heard a single "wow nice shot" or "well played, mate". I've moved to the US recently, so I'm not playing on my home country anymore. So witnessing so much uncalled hate is truly disheartening.

To be fair, I've type the word "Nice" into chat after being knifed in a pretty brutal fashion in one game. I keep the game muted though.

No it wasn't. Back in CoD UO 1.4 Only Rifle it was insane. The Community was great.

I usually do that but with my friends in discord voice chat, if u want a good experience u guys should do more friends.
