Even with frame gen games with it its nearly impossible to get a stable 144fps
Like even games from 2015 non of them that look solid can hit a stable 144 fps.
... but yes, the performance is choppy and laggy. I don't have a monster PC, but my 2080 Super can run games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 pretty well and looking good and here I can't even run medium textures without lag. I guess EA didn't want to stick with it and rushed it out in hopes of million sales - and ironically, I think WH could've been a success if they stuck with it and made the improvements.
running at 1080 instead of 1440 to try and help performance
game runs like crap with default settings
lowering everything it looks and runs like crap
changing from dlss to fsr makes it look OK reduces the stuttering but not enough to be worth playing
HDR enabled in most graphics modes looks like over brightness washed out colors, only looks good in the highest graphics modes
with EA pushing out DLC instead of fixes, then abandoning it, I don't see a reason for me to dig deeper trying to get it working.
Lots of articles and posts with many different "fixes" these fixes work for some but not all. Some fixes work in some areas of the game, but make other areas worse, it looks like a mess from what I am reading.
I'm finding no info on settings files or mods that can fix this Katana engine.
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Engine:Katana_Engine
other games using the same engine have many complaints of performance issues.
They are trying to sell their game engine for external use and it does not appear any dev's are buying into it. Pretty common story where game developer thinks they can build their own engine and turn it into a revenue source.
RTX 3070 Ti + 7600X + 32 Gb DDR5 5800 Mhz, game in a SSD
I have constant 60 FPS on my case even w/ high settings on 1080p
From memory, even on a RTX 3070 (laptop 85W) + i7 11850H + 16 Gb of RAM, the game runs fine. By fine I mean I have around 50-60 FPS.
60 FPS is more than enough on a game like this that imo so it's ok.
