going for the counter based bladed wagasa build, weapon tree question

the slot to the far left of the tree underneath the first spinglider node is still locked. it just says "awakening requirements not met". i just beat the second main story boss and i still have no idea how to unlock the node. am i doing something wrong, is this a bug, or is there something specific i need to do? thank you for your time preemptively

You have to have your weapon at a node adjacent to it. You don't just pick any spot on the tree to make, you take the first basic weapon through the tree, picking up the passives you want, in order to reach anything.

You skipped fighting a monster that drops the materials to unlock it.

I don't remember exactly, but it's either the cobalt lavaback or the ice boar in the same zone you beat the second story boss.

when i say second story boss i mean amatseru in minato . i can already create almost 5 star weapons, but just that one node to the far left wont unlock. im going to go back and finish all of the village quests, i cant think of any kemono i havent fought yet. thank you for the responses though

Try hitting R close to the boss. its auto target lock. u will then attack that part and it will fall off during the fight. u have to "mine the mats" from it. meaning u will get both mats from "animal parts that fell off during combat" and the end when animal is killed. the rat will lose its big tail thingy - it will break off and become mineable.

I think you're missing the Venomglider - If you haven't killed one yet, it should be in Chapter 3-4 hunts (middle map from memory)

must have had a glitch or something during an online hunt and it didnt count but it was indeed the icetusk that i was missing. thank you for your help!!
