Uh no. I played MHW exclusively with KB/M as well.
All my hours spent in WH thus far has been with KB/M just fine.
I did play around with a controller but I personally still prefer KB/M as I prefer controlling camera with the mouse vs thumbstick as I don't use lock-on.
Only annoying thing is the mouse pointer will appear at the centre of the screen at times. (but it will never appear during combat so no worries! Only during cutscenes and menus)
You may also want to remap your keys as it can be pretty hard to sprint/dodge/jump with the default settings.
I'd also imagine if you are into the ranged weapons like Bow or Cannon, it will be much easier to aim with the mouse.
