who the ♥♥♥♥ cares about critic scores on metacritic? FIFA 23 has a 77 among critics and 1.6 from the users. the disconnect between recognized critics and users is known for how long now? 30 years?

You are boasting too early, and while strutting about being right in the sea of negativity is warranted, let's wait to hear from actual customer base and see. For years it's been hard to trust gaming journalism and quite a few "indepentent" youtubers, specially when it comes to an EA product with their insider program.

So while the critic reviews dropped by 3 pts on metacritic the steam consumer reviews are tanked. Could be just because of the CPU issue but if it takes a week to fix those reviews and refunds are gonna stick. Also youtuber reviews who got early access are glowing except for skillup so far, creators like arekks, ragegamming, gamingbolt, etc seem highly positive.

Cyberpunk also had 80+ and game didn't work at all at release.

Cyberpunk on PC and next-gen consoles was fine on release. It was the older systems that people had that had a hard time running it.

And the huge technical problems of the game on PC will kill the rating...

Game is good on console. Game is horrible on PC. It's worth playing, but get it on console.

This is why I mostly give independent developers my money. The games may not look all shiny with the AAA graphics but the games all play solid and it's cheaper in the long run. The money I could spend on this game can get me several really good indie games.
