PC put to sleep.
Game restarted today: 20-35 fps and "slomo".
Objectively nothing has changed in my environment since yesterday.
I think all the attempts by players to tweak their settings is a placebo effect and randomly related to the game or PC restart.
This game is completely broken technically ...
@hogl - I agree, mostly think that the problem is the cpu bottleneck and somewhere in their coding. For example their audio duplication and stacking that caused CPU's to bug out unless you switch to 7.1/5.1 audio. I think those issues still persist in one form or another. Thankfully yes, the audio doesn't desync, stack, or cut out completely anymore, but the performance issues that came with it seem to have stuck around. I've been messing with my CPU clock speeds and there doesn't seem to be any real correllation between higher clock speeds and performance gains. GPU wise I'm maxed out in terms of usage and I can't OC my speeds any higher because It's not stable. The worst frames I get is when I'm in a snowstorm on a particular map. Snow + Kemono attacks drops me to around 45-50 as the lowest frames I have experienced with my current settings. Otherwise when I'm in hunts and even in multiplayer I am 60-90fps. You're not wrong saying that the game is technically broken. I just wish the Devs were more communicative about what the hell they're doing and if they have seen any bit of success with thier "performance patch" aside from fixing the audio bugs.
@tpagetenor - you know I hadn't turned off the EA overlay haha I missed my 2 cents on this one as well apparently but I "think" it may have helped my fps by turning that overlay off. I still have steam overlay on and I stayed a solid 80-90fps in a multiplayer onyxshard hunt just now in Harugasumi way.
The game constantly keeps swapping between different variants of the same asset/foliage. This usually happens when LOD hasn't been configured properly. The constant swapping between low and high polygon count assets is what makes the game so very stuttery. BTW, its also not good for your system either. Hopefully they fix it first.
Now, reflections or I better say screen space reflections is overdone. The reflections are way too intense. Last and not the least is lighting. It is the worst one here, the game tries to constantly change saturation like crazy.
It never happened and never will. Release day performance is the final one.
