Friend cannot join my session

I am trying to play with a friend online. He is farther than I am in the story, so we want me to be the host. However, he is unable to find me no matter what we do. I've even gone so far as to disable my firewall, but he cannot find me. It's not that he simply can't join my session, but that my session doesn't even exist for him when searching for it. He also does not get an invite when I send him one directly. The strange part about this, is that I can join him without issues at all.

Sam issue here, but my buddy actually sees my session. He just load and gets kicked instantly outside the session. Thumbs if someone posts a solution sooner or later.

Yes. I specifically added him as a friend on EA. When he makes a session, he's right there on the top of the list, but when I make one, I'm nowhere to be found when he searches sessions.

We found a psuedo-workaround to this. If I turn off my firewall and then we both restart the game, then if I use no tags and set it to friends only with a password, he can find me. This is a horrible workaround, and I hope this is resolved soon.

Personally I found when I set it to friends only it my mate couldn't find me (despite us being friends on both steam and EA) so we just set no preferences and set a password with no issues.

I tried this, but sadly no luck outside of what I said above.

He doesn't even see the invites. They don't seem to go through to him.

Okay, my buddy and I ran into this issue, and the problem was actually an EA launcher issue as others have alluded to in here.

Basically one, or both of the people, need to launch the game from the EA launcher instead of steam and that should fix the issue. In my buddy's case, because he EA launcher installed before the game, it caused it not to register him as online properly.

I think it might be the EA app specifically. Trying to add a friend to my list on the app and neither of us are getting friend requests, let alone session invites.

I'll try to have us launch it through EA and report back my findings once we've had the chance to test that.
