it does work, but you can't progress past the first 3 monsters, but you are able to do a couple of other quests and explore the first area (for upto 10 hours)

Thanks for sharing this, I'll actually wait to start my 10 hour trial until more of the game is available.

I don't think you'll ever get past the "gate", playing the trial version. Soon as you reach a certain point in the game, be it after 2 hours or after 8 hours, you get the same pop up and a link taking you to buying the game. I doubt they would take out this coding when the game actually launches.

Fighting 3 monsters and exploring a whole region, should be enough for you to work out if it's your kinda game and if it runs at an acceptable rate on your system.

The trial runs off it's own .exe file, not the main game .exe, even the games splash screen clearly says "Trial Version" when you load it up.

I've played the trail on both PC and Series X and both "end" at exactly the same point, soon as you try to leave the first area.

I mean in that case they have to do some hard rephrasing cuz any other EA Trial game of late was the full game and never just a demo. The thing with the exe is right but again the most recent example I can think of would be NFS, which was a trial exe but still the full game techinically

This happened to me, and I don't feel like going through all that hassle, just to play it again. I can wait about 30-ish hours for the full game to release. It is very annoying though, because steam cannot discern which version to launch.

I had about 4 hours left - bought the game - restarted it, and the "trial" part was gone from the title. But now I know it's this specific problem that is posted on reddit.

It's not a demo, it's the complete first chapter of the game and / or 10 hours of playing, before it prompts you to buy the game to play further, but if you buy the game, you wouldn't care about the trial anymore I suppose. (you do also get 10% off if you choose to buy the game)

WILL THERE BE AN EARLY ACCESS TRIAL FOR EA PLAY MEMBERS?
Yes! EA Play members will be able to try WILD HEARTS starting three days prior to launch. EA Play members and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play up to the gates of Minato starting February 13, 2023.

Plainly says . . . . Trial only lets you play upto the gates of Minato, so you might as well play now, you ain't ever getting through those gates without buying ;(

well that sucks, certainly gives me the vibes of them not being too confident in their own product

but oh well will still wait for reviews, not like I got nothing to play for the next day anyways. Thanks for posting this though
there's another solution:
download the origin launcher(the old one not EA App, google for the download site), login and open the game with the launcher.

how's them stopping the trial at a set point not having confident? You want the trail to give you the whole game without buying it? I'm legit confused with this statement.

Didn't work for me, EA disabled the oid Origin launcher, it now loads up and right away tells you to install the newer EA App.

I can tell that you are confused. Why give people a 10 hour trial for something that you can and will beat within 2 hours? :)

Monster Hunter does demos like this too, except they have no time limit, just the content being cut.

For 10 extra dollars, you get the 90 dollar edition full game 3 day early access. They aren't not being confident, they are letting you fight 3 of the kemono's and explore the first small island for a small price and they weren't deceptive about it either. You may or may not of just misunderstood the wording is all.

It's just wait of letting them try the game but not endlessly grinding the beginning to see if you like the game but you still need to pay for the full game.

Also while it was badly implement with all the glitching. It was done that way to push their ea app. None of it shows a concern with the actual game. Not allowing any demo or trial is a more sure sign of confident issues.

Ps. The monster hunter demoes are usually 3 to 4 modified hunts with no story or hub interaction. They don't need to cap them in the same way.
