okay cool thanks :)
Looks like a cool game sofar
To answer though look at some gameplay from Arekz or others on youtube and you'll see it seems more forgiving than even modern MH.
THAT is beta footage though, so take it with a grain of salt.
I think it's really only fair to compare the early stuff that was revealed to MH low rank hunts, a lot of people have said it can be more difficult than those (let's be honest, low rank MH hunts are very easy). Not sure anyone has been allowed to talk about the post-story and endgame stuff due to review embargo. I think they may be able to say more on the 13th (soft embargo when they can talk about more stuff) maybe. If not, we'll hear more when the full embargo is lifted on the 16th.
We'll know more soon.
A game like Dark Souls 3, or Nioh, or Elden Ring are tougher than MH in low rank, but in G rank/Master rank, MH is considerably more challenging. The AI and movesets for the monsters, and their HP levels make the fights last a lot longer, when in any of the Souls games you can trivialize bosses by simply over leveling the content and bursting their HP down in 10-15 secs. Enemies and bosses in Souls games are considerably more predictable with their attacks as well.
Elden Ring is case and point, you can just summon a spirit ash, spam bosses down with OP weapon arts, or delete their entire HP bar with kamehameha. It's trivial if you simply use the tools the game gives you without any limitations.
True. I was talking about how much damage they take when hit specifically though. Seems a bit low and encouraging face tanking a little. Yes it's early game and in this type of game that's like "tutorial" area but still. And there's the fact that "usually" devs dumb down and switch easy mode on, for game journalists/beta testers.
Even those people that bought the "ultimate" edition or whatever it's called, may have a widely different experience after the traditional day 1 patch.
