The cover art of this game is insulting, and frankly, it's borderline racist
The people in Egypt right now, especially the Coptic people, are the descendants of the ancient Egyptians, so why do we have black people representing ancient Egyptians? Do accurate depictions of history just not matter at all when it comes to brown people? Do we just say F the brown people? The ancient Egyptian language is a Semitic language, the ancient Egyptians were a Semitic people, like the people now in Egypt are Semitic.

Racism against black people? Not okay. Racism against brown people? That's no problem at all.

Stop, the cover guy is not black, I am a Visigoth descendant and even I can tan more than him, in the Sun.

Get help, this is not Netflix, and clown farming is a sign of mental distress.

I'm half Egyptian. The cover guy looks like my cousin.

The game stopped aiming at historical accuracy with Rome 2. Just move on to another franchise. Back then there was a huge discussion between historical accuracy and historical representation. Sadly, these games have nothing historic anymore, but they may represent those times for less informed people nowadays. In short, its like a Hollywood game.

When I used to live with roommates, one of my former roomates was Egyptian and I honestly thought they based it off of him for a second!

Nubia yes but the game is set before that time

Supposedly Egyptians were as white as Greeks, as far as im aware, since Ptolomaic Egypt was basically just Greece. Depends of the time period.

What? While typing here in the forum, you can see his face very clearly on the right side of the screen. I don't know what's wrong with you, but the guy looks like a normal middle eastern dude. I think you should look again at what the difference is between the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.

international researchers found that the ancient Egyptians were most closely related to the peoples of the Near East, particularly from the Levant. This is the Eastern Mediterranean which today includes the countries of Turkey, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. The mummies used were from the New Kingdom and a later period, (a period later than the Middle Kingdom) when Egypt was under Roman rule. Modern Egyptians share 8% of their genome with central Africans, far more than ancient ones, according to the study, published in the journal Nature Communications. The influx of sub-Saharan genes only occurred within the last 1,500 years. This could be attributed to the trans-Saharan slave trade or just from regular, long distance trade between the two regions. Improved mobility on the Nile during this period increased trade with the interior, researchers claim.
