thats only 3 that i play
2 > 5 > 4 > 1 > 3
Formation and 6 man party is the staple in Suikoden, and Suikoden 4 only has 4 man party and non existant formation is my biggest gripe
3 and 4 are about the same, but for different reasons. Both are controversial with how significantly they deviated from the established formula, but in the end those differences brought about a quality that was on par with each other. Also, nobody mentions Tactics, the direct sequel to 4. Not a great game by any right, but it at least had SOME merit over that DS game that's not worth mentioning.
The best thing about it was that it came with a soundtrack CD full of remixes and rearrangements of songs from the rest of the series, including a song that would be later included in Suikoden V.
Still, though, not as bad as Suikoden Tierkreis, IMO.
Luc was fantastic among the series.
I wanted to like 3 more than I did, but there were a handful of characters which were absent that I really felt should have had a spot in Suikoden 3. None of them are bad games by any means, although I will say that I found 4 to be disappointing and by far the weakest entry in the series.
