This is not some reforged ♥♥♥♥ like Warcraft 3.
It is just a "remaster". And you will see difference between the "old" game size and the new....
I have no idea what you all always expect.... If you're not up for this game, don't bother people here about it.
If you're going to criticize, do it sensibly.
Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.

Go and ask them.
The original GAME was in that graphic... so your argument of being tired by using this pixel art... is a little bit weird.
I played both games on release back in the 90's, the issue is that those graphics were meant to be played on a much lower resolution TVs, the original games looked much smoother and less blocky. Trying to port the game on systems with much higher resolution ends up in this pixilated blocky mess people are complaining about.
Konami is just trying to cash in nostalgia factor, don't expect too much. I do hope the remake sells well though, so they might make the 6th game, but it is very unlikely unless this thing is making big bucks (which it won't).
I 100% agree. I know they redid the FF Pixel Remasters so they at least look decent on modern TV's. I'm not sure why Konami isn't taking the similar similar initiative. I love the Suikoden series and would enjoy playing it again with updated graphics, but unless they do something quick before release, these original pixels don't help their cause at all I will not be buying this.
If they actually care about the IP right now we will be playing a 3d latest gen Suikoden 8 or something instead of talking about a minimum effort remaster. Look at what final fantasy were during suikoden era, and look at final fantasy now.
You don't want to have them use a filter on the sprites, look at the FF mobile ports that were universally panned for the "Improved Smooth Sprites".
The cost of re-doing tens of thousands of pixel art frames by hand would balloon the budget massively and this is not a series that has had the financial success of FF. So the only choices were:
A.) Keep it the same.
B.) Use a filter to do it cheap, but badly.
C.) Redo all the pixel art by hand in a series with a niche audience and forfeit most of your profits.
If it ain't broke...
