English Voices Deserve More Lines
They are always done so dirty, it's just awkward silence after awkward silence, until a big scene where they bring these characters to life.

But switch to Japanese Voices and it's like a whole different game, everyone is talking, saying pop up dialog and feels alive when exploring.

I'm still in early game, but the Japanese voices are so much more active.

Idea Factory gonna stop this, so pointless to bring back the whole cast just to chop chunks out of their voice lines.

Personally im surprised they still bother with EN voiceacting, especially considering they are working with a limited budget and their JP voiceacting is good enough to be a selling point anyways.

The Japanese Voice acting is truly amazing, Had the nostalgia from hearing the English Mostly OG cast not instantly hook me, I'd play the game with Japanese for sure.

they are not alone, gust and falcom suffer same problem

and anyway with remaster they add more english line, for example in first neptunia game you have less line, but with rebirth and next you get more line

man.. I was just coming here for the same thing. I don't know why, every new game, I think 'This is the one' and I can probably finally enjoy a fully voiced english Neptunia.

The EN-girls grew on me a long time ago, so for me THEY'RE my original voices. Part of me even misses old Valley Girl Noire too sometimes cus it hurt to listen to and that's why it was great. Like Shenmue-tier acting. Ha, but the new Noire and Vert replacements since Cyberdimension help quell that desire.

Anyway.. I hate to have to switch to JP to see if they speak at certain dialogue that went completely silent under EN. It always takes me out of the game when suddenly all is mute.

I, for the most part, am here to hear my favorite girls bicker and make dumb jokes when I play these Neptunia games. It's less impactful when I have to imagine it myself, reading it with subtitles even if there's a japanese voice in the background leading the expressions.

....the japanese voices are also 100% accurate story retelling, where the english line feels like (or is) censored. Nearly in most anime games (with japanese dub) you can here the hard differences.....

I noticed this too, definitely seems they had another tight budget again

my issue is they had a entire dub promotion for this game, where the actors called u and left messages, so somehow they could afford to send dubbed messages over phone and sms to thousands of people but they couldnt dub more than 20 percent of the game? lol

It really does suck when translators or voice actors try to take creative freedom to change the script. Or when they insert their personal political opinions into a game when they are in no way relevant.

And there's very few English VAs; you can count the good English VAs on a single hand twice over.
The state of English dubbing as a whole is a perpetual dumpsterfire, and has only been getting worse over the years.

Actually the very first Neptunia game on the PS3 had a 100% English dub with the exception of the DLC.

Then again, they got the licensing rights to the game for next to nothing, so they could allocate the budget to the English dub.

im also surprised they bothered doing any voicing at all when irl they never fully dub the game in english its pretty pointless at this point in time mostly due to the greedy english actors which is why they have such a hard time english dubbing the game they want too much money to dub it so its kinda pointless to dub any neptunia game at this point. The only neptunia game to actually get a near 100% dub was the original neptunia on ps3 that game will be the only one to actually get a real dub while the rest never got dubbed.
