and anyway with remaster they add more english line, for example in first neptunia game you have less line, but with rebirth and next you get more line
The EN-girls grew on me a long time ago, so for me THEY'RE my original voices. Part of me even misses old Valley Girl Noire too sometimes cus it hurt to listen to and that's why it was great. Like Shenmue-tier acting. Ha, but the new Noire and Vert replacements since Cyberdimension help quell that desire.
Anyway.. I hate to have to switch to JP to see if they speak at certain dialogue that went completely silent under EN. It always takes me out of the game when suddenly all is mute.
I, for the most part, am here to hear my favorite girls bicker and make dumb jokes when I play these Neptunia games. It's less impactful when I have to imagine it myself, reading it with subtitles even if there's a japanese voice in the background leading the expressions.
....the japanese voices are also 100% accurate story retelling, where the english line feels like (or is) censored. Nearly in most anime games (with japanese dub) you can here the hard differences.....
I noticed this too, definitely seems they had another tight budget again
And there's very few English VAs; you can count the good English VAs on a single hand twice over.
The state of English dubbing as a whole is a perpetual dumpsterfire, and has only been getting worse over the years.
Actually the very first Neptunia game on the PS3 had a 100% English dub with the exception of the DLC.
Then again, they got the licensing rights to the game for next to nothing, so they could allocate the budget to the English dub.
