I have but a simple review of this game,

Gameplay 9/10, good customization as well (once you've gotten a lot of the skills and passive abilities) it allows you to fully change how you wanna approach stages or score attacking, just wish you could save and load skill loadouts.

Story: lmao/10, absolutely horrid if you enjoyed the previous games story. It almost actively disrespects the previous games plot and narrative. It's like a 1st place competitor on how not to treat your series main character or plot in any respectful way for longtime fans of the story.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, sorry, Septima Sealer Kirin could’ve worked great as a spin-off game instead of a mainline entry, but sadly, that’s not the case. Before reading any further, remember that this review includes story spoilers. Read at your own risk! This is also not entirely a negative review since the gameplay part is actually outstanding, but there are serious problems story-wise as well as from its technical aspects. Before stretching it out any longer, I’ll get right into it.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is such a misleading title for a game that you barely get to play as Gunvolt, and that is for a limited time unless you master his move set and memorize every single boss pattern. Kirin is in the spotlight this time around due to Gunvolt losing control over his power and going into Primal Dragon state which is supposedly a very dangerous being that is capable of destroying the world, but thanks to Sumeragi’s several Glaives, he stays under control until Kirin finds and frees him. Kirin’s Septima is capable of sealing other Adepts’ Septimas, thus she ends up sealing GV’s Azure Striker to keep him in check but ends up transforming him into a dog that can talk. This whole dog thing isn’t explained in any way at any point; therefore, I interpreted it as a sexual metaphor of the director. Oh, we have LOTS of those, by the way. I’ll get to them in a bit. Anyway, due to GV’s Primal Dragon state, we find out that there are some Adepts who got affected by his Dragon Radiation and went berserk. At this point, Sumeragi decides that GV isn’t a terrorist anymore, and with the help of Kirin, they start working for Sumeragi under a newly founded department called The Bureau of Dragon Saviors whose aim is to detect and take care of Adepts that got affected by GV’s Dragon Radiation. However, Kirin ends up recruiting them. I’m not gonna lie, they’re some very colorful characters and there’s huge potential, but the problem is that this whole game is a mainline entry instead of a spin-off. Naturally, everyone who made it up to this point will be expecting a follow-up to Xiao’s ending in GV2, but no. Instead, you’ll be greeted with a perverted Arabian Prince who has an organization of his own called ATEMS that is formed by him and his… wives. You heard that right. Even though the game refers to them as Zed’s Knights, it’s quite obvious that they’re not exactly that. There’s even a character that revolves around this prince’s sexual fantasies who is called Sistina. To elaborate it a bit further, she shoots dildos and butt plugs at you. Her desperation move is also called Relentless Libido. You’d naturally want to take this Zed guy down since he lacks the most basic moral judgments of a human being, right? But no… It gets worse. Much, much worse. He reveals that GV is not the original Primal Dragon, but something called Moebius, and this Zed guy ends up helping Kirin during the last fight. You even get to play as this perverted freak in a separate campaign. I really don’t want to spoil the ending, but it makes things even worse.

So, that’s the mess of a story Inti Creates came up with in this game. No matter from what perspective you look at it, it doesn’t make any sense. Was there really no other way to introduce Kirin and other characters? What happened to the other characters that were in previous games? Where’s Copen? What happened to Mytyl? What was Xiao planning? You won’t find any answers to these questions sadly. Oh, before I forget, Lumen is in the game, but in the form of an Image Pulse which is the result of the combination of GV’s and Kirin’s Septimas. In other words, she’s just a materialized version of GV’s memories.

Leaving that horrible story behind, let’s talk about the gameplay a bit. You almost play as Kirin all the time, but you can switch to GV if you feel like the game is too difficult for a reason if his Fetters Gauge is enough to allow you to play as him since he lacks any sort of HP bar. You can think of him as a backup plan because while using him, you’ll deal a huge amount of damage, but gain less kudos compared to Kirin. If you aim to play the game as intended, then you’ll have to refrain from touching the ground as long as possible and keep building up chains using Kirin. You’re probably already familiar with aerial combat from Luminous Avenger iX games, but unlike Copen, Kirin doesn’t have any sort of jetpack so it’s a lot harder to stay in the air. You unlock an aerial attack that acts as a jump after defeating a certain boss and you gain an additional air jump after using the Arc Chain successfully. It may sound difficult at first, but let me tell you that if Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 does anything right, it’s its gameplay and level design. There are also several active and passive Image Pulses that you can collect to aid you on your journey. However, if you’re thinking about playing as Gunvolt without having to deal with Kirin, you’ll have no other option but to memorize every single boss pattern and learn to keep GV’s Fetters Gauge at full. You can either use the special Image Pulse that lets you start most of the stages as Gunvolt or unlock D-nizer and Trial Modes to play as him without having to deal with Image Pulses. Although they’re the most ideal ways to play as GV, you’ll still have to deal with Fetters Gauge. In other words, there really isn’t a proper way to play as Gunvolt in a game called Azure Striker Gunvolt 3. What a joke. Speaking of a joke, there’s also a joke ending that you can unlock by collecting every single Image Pulse out there excluding the DLC packs of course. Do you want to go through all that trouble and get mocked by Inti? Go ahead. The future of the series doesn’t look bright, but one can hope regardless. I can only hope that whatever they have in store for us next, won’t be as shallow and disappointing as this one.

Although Septima Sealer Kirin offers great things gameplay-wise, it fails to live up to its reputation when it comes to story. If you’re expecting a follow-up to Gunvolt 2’s ending, you won’t find any here. However, if what you’re after is good gameplay with new mechanics, Septima Sealer Kirin won’t disappoint. Sorry, were you looking for the review of Azure Striker Gunvolt 3? Oh, it isn’t out yet.

Shortly after the end of the previous game, Gunvolt gets locked up in the Sumeragi's basement after tasing his (second) girlfriend. After spending untold years of being used as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ space heater, he's eventually busted out and given a smooch by a cute miko.“Is this heaven?” He asked. “No GeeVee. It's not. You're my little ♥♥♥♥♥ now, literally.” Whispered the pitslut.

Join Kirin in this brand new spin off game as she enslaves cute boys into her battle harem and wages war against a rival harem headed by the Atomic Arab Sunny Z. Will GV ever stop being a dog? Will his tulpa gf ever be real? Will his suffering ever end? (no lol)

The day we've all been patient for, the long awaited Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is here earlier then expected, now we have all Gunvolt game possibly made, available on Steam. (including the spin-offs series) This game takes place after the mainline games which are Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 & 2, if you haven't played those, no fear since you can play this game & still have an understanding to the story for the most part, it's recommended to play the previous first two games, to know the story precisely.

Gamplay: This game introduces a new character Kirin, who uses her sword to slash enemies, similar to a Mega Man Zero, there's a new mechanic to her, you throw talisman on one or multiple enemies, then teleport into them with arc chain to kill them off at once to earn combos points. If you want to grind more points you have to avoid touching the ground similar to Copen's mechanics. You get to learn new moves as you progress each stages. The second character: the main series protagonist Gunvolt aka Azure Striker, plays much differently then in the previous games. Gunvolt is powerful & almost immortal, much like the first two games, you shoot & tag into one or three enemies & use your electric bolts or mimic Kirin's Arc Chain to finish off multiple enemies at once, you no longer have air strikes points & your flashfield is now automatic instead of holding the R Bumper Button, you can also shoot diagonally, jump infinitely & air dash without equipments. Gunvolt no longer has a health bar instead you now have is this Feather Gauge, which is filled default at 100%, the downside to that is if that meter drains or if you use SP Skill, you will switch back to Kirin meaning you can use Gunvolt temporarily & wait until the meter is back to 100%. Copen (aka Acura) is no longer featured as a playable character here.

Scoring & Difficulty: As with every Azure Striker Gunvolt game, (including the Luminous Avenger iX series) you have this Kudos System where if you reach 1K Kudos, Lumen start singing her new Jpop songs in the entire level. Normally if you get hit, you lose all your Kudos & Lumen stops singing however in GV3, they have changed it where if you take damage, your Kudos get locked & you have to earn points to unlock yourself & Lumen continues singing unless you stop grinding points . You are now forced to touch checkpoints bit it doesn't reset your Kudos anymore. GV3 also introduces a new S++ Rank which is a rank higher to S+ Rank, the requirements here are very high as you need to memorize the level & get an almost perfect run in every stage. You also have exclusive SS Rank for Gunvolt only if you equipped the proper image pulse through a gacha roll. The Kudos Mode: Gutless, Cautious & Fearless have now been replaced with Normal, Hard & Very Hard Modes.

Conclusion & Thoughts: Overall I like GV3, it's not a perfect game & story could be better written but I did enjoy the story over Luminous Avenger iX2. I wish Kirin's gameplay was less linear & focused more on slashing enemies on ground rather staying on air but it get's the job done. I also wish Gunvolt had a health bar & wasn't so overpowered. The only nitpicks I have is that Gunvolt no longer runs or sprints instead dashes & that they removed the Sumeragi Plasma Legion Tank that was shown on GV3 first trailer. Currently the game is 10% off & you get all the Image Pulse DLC for Free with it if you buy the base game only until October 20th so get it while you can.

As a side note, the full game runs much better then the Demo which had random occasional stutters & FPS drops, they are not present here or aren't as noticeable anymore.

Story couldn't be that-

OH MY GOD! MY EYES! How could they make such a bad story!? I wasn't even that into the story of the first two games but what were they thinking!? They massacred my boi Gunvolt! In the words of AVGN, "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?"

...Gameplay's pretty tight though. Kirin is a blast to play.

gameplay is amazing. soundtrack is amazing. levels are great, and the bosses were fine with some nice throwbacks.

but god this story... this and ix 2 are so horrendously bad, but literally the gameplay is the only thing that gv3 has got going for it at least compared to the dumpster fire that was ix 2.

i dont even know why its called a "GUNVOLT" game when hes more or less a backseat until you fill up the bar enough to use him for a limited time. they could have very easily taken the approach like they did in gv2 where its dual protagonists, because kirin is really fun to play as. she has her own character and personality. so why on earth did they choose this terrible fusion?

But why is the story so mean to GV and his past actions?

Finished the game, got all the achievements and for the most part mastered the mechanics, don't expect me to be the final boss without cheesing him though :D

First off, let's get the negatives out of the way.

1. No regional pricing. At the end I buckled up and bought the game but this game, as FANTASTIC AS IT IS, is not worth 200 TL.
2. Mega Man Zero style special moves you get from the bosses kind of suck. I only use the upward slash and the spin slash attacks. The former only because it let's me do an extra double jump and the latter because it is a spin slash and I like those.

And that's it. Those are the only problems I have with this game. Time for the positives!!!

1. Fantastic controls. I always feel like I am in control of the characters, they are so smooth and tight.

2. Arc chain is amazing. THIS was a game mechanic I have been hoping to see in a 2d game for like the last 5 years. FINALLY, a fast and consistent way application! If you know what you are doing, you pretty much don't need to touch the ground ever!

3. Arc chain is the main tag mechanic in this game BUT you don't need to tag enemies to kill them quickly in this game, unlike the previous gunvolt games. You do need arc chain to dodge a few boss attacks but you don't need to use it to beat the stages. The same also applies to tagging enemies. Your sword does a good chunk of damage without tagging enemies. FINALLY, a tag mechanic that doesn't limit you playing style!!!

4. While the special moves you get from the bosses are quite lackluster, the image pulse mechanic more than makes up for it. You have your active image pulses which can be used to attack enemies or to support Kirin via healing etc... You also have passive image pulses that effect your stats. Overall a really cool and well implemented mechanic.

5. Level design, presentation and boss fights are also really great and compliment the mechanics of the game.

In conclusion, this is not only my favorite Gunvolt game but also one of my favorite platformers ever. Easily top 5.
