Now we have Lost Skies, because it was too good of an idea to give up on.
It explicitly doesn't rely on a third party server architecture, so it's not going to be lost the way World's Adrift was.
Lost Skies with the WA discount and launch discount making the game £15 was a no brainer I've spent 25 hours in the game so far so got my moneys worth already.
Its worse than you think, they only got 148 hours for that $20!
Others may be mad that they never allowed private servers, but I also think that decision is understandable considering Lost Skies has been in development and it would be dumb to give themselves more competition for one of their upcoming games.
Ultimately though I loved world's adrift (though I could hardly run it at the time with my pc so I never played too much) I'm not mad at Bossa. They are a company and cannot exist without making money, there is no use in being mad.
And if you try to warn people look at the whole story why Worlds Adrift *failed*, what the dev's have already done to prevent a second disaster like that, and the fact that this time around the dev's are working with a publisher so they will at least need to deliver a finished project at the end of early access.
That being said, i truly hope the dev's take their time, for this game is so unique in its play style that it could be a long lasting entertaining game,
