Lost Skies

Lost Skies

Empty Skies
Don't get me wrong guys, it's a beautiful game, but I've been flying around for a few hours and all I've seen are empty skies with the same half-empty islands.

If you are not turning this into a PvP MMO, you have to fill the skies with npc enemies, make islands more diverse with a bigger variety of mobs and such. You can't just create an empty sandbox and expect people to enjoy it.

Story wise the dev's can implement a more populated world, by creating settlements around some ark's, some of the survivors defected and became raiders.
Well, The game is Early Access so now is the perfect time to present ideas like these.

The last thing I want is hordes of cliffracer/mantas between each island again. For now they just have the big boy Heralds I think.

I gave it a shot, but just couldn't get into it. No hook or interesting enough loop.

Please don’t turn this chill game into pew pew fest. Thanks.

one problem is all the clouds hide half the islands and make them hard to find so it feels more empty when its nothing but white

Agreed. They need something beyond turrets and mantas. Even the occasional raider squad would spice things up. Those ruins being the small outpost of a raiders is better than just another empty space.

And I would prefer some map or scanning system. Arrive on the island, use a ground or ship based scanner to detected how many nodes are on the island, but not where they are. And after collecting/harvesting a resource it is added to the codex for that isle that can show up when you mouseover it on a map -- like a map table built within your airship.

Your map suggestion would also be great, and my raider suggestion, don't overpopulate, but make it some island have a raider base, other have a settlement with a few survivors and make it that there are transport ships or trade ships travelling between those settlements.

Tradeships/transports makes it that the player don't just go in guns blazing but needs to figure out if it is a survivor ship or a raider.

I remember in WA your grappling hook was also a scan device, i miss that here to be honest.

Yeah, as peaceful as it is just flying around there is a lot to wish for. It is EA but havent seen anything in their roadmap or devblogs to suggest much more life in the world.

I know its not gonna become Worlds Adrift but the lack of other players is really a big minus.

Yeah, but the problem is that these islands are also not very exciting to explore, and after visiting several islands, it feels like you've seen it all.

To be honest, the diversity in the make up of the islands offer different challenges which makes it fun to explore, the schematics are a bit to much duplicate ones which can be annoying....

The pvp and social aspects are exactly what this game is missing, it's what gave you something to do in Worlds Adrift beyond gathering and exploring. If they aren't going to add npc ships to fight either, what's the point?

Depends what type of gamer you are. Can’t you play worlds adrift? Is it still a thing?

Nope. Worlds Adrift was the game these devs made before and after deciding it wasn't selling well enough, they pulled all development. This game is basically Worlds Adrift 2.0, and will likely end the same way as well judging the sales numbers (which are worse than Worlds Adrift).
