The worst way to leave a positive review..
Is to spend the review as an opportunity to attack and belittle negative reviews. that is less than useless to anyone reading. If you think the game is good, explain that instead. If the negative reviews are dumb, no one reads them, so why waste the reader's (and your own) time?

All you are doing is making a post that could be any of the useless threads in the pro Vs con never ending war in the forums. If i am looking at reviews and the positive reviews start by attacking the 'noobs' or 'kids' etc that gave it a negative review, it starts to look like maybe this is ideological and not based on the actual game.

It's interesting that in your desire to point out what you consider useless, you don't identify the other types of reviews that are just as unhelpful.

People feel the need to bash a game they can't play properly, on the other side of the coin people like to praise a game and defend their purchase, that's why I always, always, always play a game for my self, ignore reviews and influencers and if I don't personally enjoy it, I usually refund it. personally, I love this game, the negatives suck sure, but meh, it's early days, I'll watch this space and not feel the need to bash or praise it, because others opinions are their own, not mine and I don't care about anyone else but me.

So the worst positive review is one pointing out what negatives are wrong accustations but not the other way around with negative reviews calling every positive review a paid shill?

The problem is that many negative reviews are written completely unobjectively and without any argument. This depends on the overall rating, and the success of a game depends significantly on its overall rating. And if someone objectively and justifiedly evaluates a game positively, they are also supporting the reputation of the game and that of the developers. Some "noobs" or "kids" who just say some negative, unfounded nonsense can be quite annoying because they influence the overall ranking completely unfairly and inappropriately. I just feel sorry for the developers who actually don't deserve this.

I did some general counting and noticed there's only one type of review who insisted attacking other reviews. Guess which type?
But I'm only talking to myself here. Do the research yourselves, fellows.

It would be good if reviews were only allowed after 30 or 40 hours minimum. That's enough time to get pretty far in a game, begin to learn the fundamentals and get over the initial flailing that goes on after playing games we are overfamiliar with. It also weeds out a lot of the idiots, of which there may or may not be a few. It's like the forums, why do folks who don't own the game get to be on the forums. Or there should be a guest subforum for them. Otherwise it's just piles of crazies with strange agendas farming jesters.

I'm in about 10 hours now and know another 30 to 40 hours things will smooth out a lot. It's a beautiful game, runs smoothly, but it makes me appreciate games made by devs with great QA and a fine attention to detail. And those that understand the KISS principle. But then it's EA so we are a part of the process and folks forget that or don't understand the concept.

People will just exploit the fact that Steam can't distinguish between hours played and hours spent on the menu screen.

You should go ahead and say the reverse as well:

The worst way to leave a NEGATIVE review. Is to spend the review as an opportunity to attack and belittle POSITIVE reviews (and reviewers, really).

And all of this attempt to blame others for their opinions/actions ignores one simple fact; what is considered "positive", "negative", "constructive criticism", "drama queen BS", etc..... is 100% subjective, and there is no neutral party making the judgements here.

We all have our own opinions and motives for saying what we do, and thats NEVER going to change. So every topic here just devolves into opinion chaos..... which suits some people just fine, and leaves others frustrated.

In the words of the "Wargames" computer "the only way to win is... not to play (the forum game)"

I just play my game, do my own homework in picking games, and enjoy the game for what it is....(I am enjoying it and dont expect more this early in EA, based on my experience with dozens of other EA games) I dont come HERE (to the steam forums) often and when I do I am not expecting anything useful or remotely intelligent said, and am occasionally overjoyed to find a useful tidbit of info. :steamhappy:

Incorrect. Several of the negative reviews are based on literal false information. Debunking that is to give people a chance to make up their own mind.

Go look through the reviews. You got people outright lying. Which is ridiculous, since there's plenty of things to dislike about the game. And yet people are lying in an attempt to make their personal taste seem like objective truth. It's pathetic, and calling it out is to do everyone a service.

Some other positive reviews are written the exact same way. With no other motivation than rationalisating the price they paid. I've read things like "I love the crafting system. Great game ". They artificially upgrade the ranking of the game too.
Why someone should have to justify what they like or dislike? Theire is more bad reviews on bad game. That's all.
