GG game need a reset... - DEVS PLZ READ this is game breaker (not joking or trolling)
So after spending some time ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ arround with the crafting system, some friends and i discover that you could increase stats on items infinitely.

Right now watching my friend dealing 250k + damage with a level 120 pistol tier 2 pistol without any augments like "damage range ++". And that's only a quick test... you can basically do that with all gear (weapons & armors).

In case people wonder of course no cheat where used, only the "infinit ingot crafting exploit" (just to speed up the process) and only basic ingots (not even high tier ones or legendaries).

What does all that mean and why game need a reset?

Well you can use that system even without wanting to abuse it and not even knowing that exist. So it's not even about "abusing volontary the game", cause you do that exploit allready without even knowing it. The only abuse is to take it to the next level with a specific manipulation with crafting.
No matter what content devs create, anyone that abuse the system can go to 1M or even 10M damage, so if those items stay in game any multiplayer session will be plague with this...
Actually everybody use that mecanic even if they don't want to.

By the way he just One Shot Jana with 1 shot of 4 bullets with his gun...

EDIT: Will put it here cause apparently some people have problems to understand few things:

1 - The problem i'm talking about doesn't change your gear score AT ALL. So it's not even "easy to see people using it".

2 - It's not about deciding to cheat, having a "cheating mentality", deciding to use an exploit... ALL PLAYERS are using it, no matter if they want to use it or not. Litteraly 100% of players. If you craft your gear you are using it to make it simple.

3 - The only thing you can choose to not use is the "infinit stats" on purpose.

4 - At the end of the day it's a "multiplayer game" so if they start to develop content like new bosses, raid bosses and so on in their HUB where you have to play with other players... all players will have boosted items and some will have even further boosted items that will be able to OS that content.
So yeah it's kind of a big problem. Game is PvE only so definitely no competition cause there's no leaderboard or anything like that atm... still no competition doesn't mean that everything is fine. For example play Darktide and imagine every 2 games there was someone one shotting every mobs, elites, boss... people will just stop playing the game...

5 - People that think it's a "Solo / Coop game" probably didn't even reach the city yet. Won't spoil but at some point for some content it's not "Solo" or "Only with your friends".

I'm the "friend" he's talking about. I can assure you what he says is correct. I litteraly just oneshoted Jana with a level 120 blue pistol, regular bullets, no charm or infusion at all. Only made of T3 Swamp Wood + Pursuit ingots. With some crafting tricks of course, as Misha explained. And Devs, you can contact me if you want I reproduce/explain the trick. I can also provide screenshots, or even give you the items I crafted.

If people keep thinking this could be "normal" for some weird reasons... we made the same gun but a bit more powerful... 1 shot in Jana head => 193M+ dmg

It doesn't need a reset.
I don't deserve a reset because some people are willing to use exploits.
Show some willpower and don't use them.
They can, and I am sure will remove the exploit.
The people who have those weapons will soon get bored and retire from the game taking those things with them.
It's pretty sad watching those with these things running around Watch missions but so be it. It's pretty obvious when they have such high gearscores so they can't hide it.
Right now there isn't a great deal of impact on most people in a multiplayer format so who cares.
Maybe they need to create a GM and just hunt down those people and ban them. The items would show up to them if they searched characters for them. Not hard for them to do but a PITA that they should have to. They can revert or just delete items with a gearscore over 286 or whatever the cap is currently.

Just ignore it and move along.

Please submit bugs and exploits. Give the devs a chance to fix this game. Nightingale will become one of the best one day

That's exactly what I was thinking about.
After new big update we will have army of absolutely overpowered players, who found and used every single bug and exploit and they will swallow new content in a couple of hours due to absence of any challenge.

P.S. If they will wipe/reset servers they will lose at least 50% of players.
P.P.S. I made 68m crit damage with my pistol :DDD

Problem is that it's not even an exploit you can choose to do or not do... You, Me, everybody are using it allready.
So we are all using "cheated" weapons that aren't suppose to have those stats.

The only thing you can choose to not do is go even further. The bug was apparently allready reported but partially he didn't really understand how deep that problem was.
Cause he was basically only crafting 1 weapon not going even further.

By the way it's not only on weapons, but on bags, clothes and even some food (need more test to be 100% sure about that last one).

Agree that it might lose some players, but 100% of players will leave if this starts to become the "norm". What's the point to play if everybody OS everything.

As i said everybody is using this allready even if they don't want to.
It's not even only on the weapons, but it's also on armors, bags & even food (have to continue testing for food).

Yeah my friend just did a 193M+ dmg which is just ridiculous. We think that we might be able to make the server crash if we go even further in numbers if we reach unwrittable numbers.

It should be fairly easy to detect and restore any affected items to a 'normal' state, I doubt a reset is necessary.

BUt it's early access, ♥♥♥♥ happens.
Asilar Mar 1, 2024 @ 10:58pm
I reported the trick as a major/critical bug. The problem is not the initial stacking of bonuses that you can do, the problem is that you can iterate it as much as you want to stack the bonuses, there is only a problem with weight that is also incremented by each iteration. But with something like 8 to 10 iterations I got a shot at 193M damage on Jana as MishaXG said... This is totally breaking the game, and it will not be fun to have people running the dungeons with such stuff. I dived deep in the crafting mechanics to test the limits, and this is really a critical problem that need to be addressed ASAP. I think it would be a big mistake to underestimate the potential impact for everyone who run some dungeons, and how it would impact future updates/content.

Honnestly i hope so, depends on the code and where the problem is.
Yeah it's early access but honnestly deeper i go into the game worst it becomes.
To the point i m 100% sure they didn't test anything at all, not even what they implemented.

Augments that aren't working, item limit on a map that bugs, structure limit decision, it's nearly impossible to play with 1 friend on the same map and 2 different base cause of the item limit of 350 (won't even talk about 6 people doing their base own base on the same map), resurrection mecanism between NPC, between players and between NPC & Players that is a total joke and just kill the difficulty of the game, able to go to level 300+ of gear but not a single mob in any difficult reach level 300 so when you are full stuff there's nothing to do... and the list isn't even over...

All the previous problems can be fixed easily with some updates and so on, but this weapon / armors / bags bug is another level.

So yes i know it's Early Access and so on, 75% of games are in Early Access now anyway so it's not a "good reason" anymore.
We can excuse a lots of things like server problems, unfinished gameplay, not enough content... but at some point it's not an Early Access problem, it's that they aren't even testing what they choose to do and even think of the final result.

100% sure they didn't test anything at all, huh? Cool.

You can blame the devs and the game all you want for letting a bug through to EA but I point the finger primarily at the players who use it.
A good number of games will ban people for wilfully using exploits. Maybe think about that before banging on so much about how you used one. Just because they have not (and probably will not) reacted doesn't mean they wont.
It's not as big a drama as you think.
The people most affected will be those that have used it and gotten used to it and then find themselves stuck doing it properly with a peashooter. They will quickly lose interest and leave taking their trash items with them.
Panic Fire Mar 1, 2024 @ 11:21pm
The simple solution to this is remove the reclaim ingot and lumber feature and its solved.
Tanyon Mar 1, 2024 @ 11:22pm
So then don't do it? lol. Like.. the devs have done what.. 1 update so far to fix a few things and you are here demanding a bug be fixed (exploit) whatever.. one that YOU could simply just stop doing.

Sounds to me like you and your pals found a way to break the game, ruin your own experience and then came here to complain about it. You could have simply did a search and contributed to one of the other dozen threads about this.

Also, this is a co-op single player game. If you want to be a god then be one you aren't hurting anyone but yourself as demonstrated in this very post.

Its a non competitve PVE, u dont need to reset the game, just reset ur brain and cheating mentality, Just dont abuse the exploit and u will be fine, playing as usually untill u play with randoms.
