At the time of writing this, I'm confused as to how this game has only positive reviews.

Trailer presentation: The UI does not match what is seen in the trailers, even slightly. In addition, there are significantly more classes presented in the trailers than are actually available in the game, and the skill trees actually seem fairly fleshed out a glance, but in game, there are only four skills per class.

It's very clunky and stuff just kind of feels all over the place. Things feel very heavy as a result of being locked into long animations when you do anything which makes faster weapons, especially ranged weapons, superior to everything else.

The Hammer is the only one-handed weapon in the game, even though when wielding a mace or sword you only swing with one hand. You're still locked out of equipping a shield.

There's no way to purchase weapons in the base, you can purchase any type of armor you want, but not weapons for some reason.

Several enemies completely knock you down when they hit you, and they attack very fast which completely eliminates the ability to use melee weapons without a shield, as they prevent you from being able to act.

The inventory is far too small: Within the first 5 minutes of entering a mission, you will have every inventory slot filled with purple items, but you will likely need to spend another 25 minutes completing the mission as there is no direction or guidance on where to go to proceed to your next step of the mission.

Lack of guidance: There is no map and no clear indicator of where you need to go when working on a quest. You enter the dungeon and either you know where you need to go, or you spend an extremely long time trying to find your way around. In particular, the Zodd mission has a main chamber that requires 3 keys to pass a locked door. We spent 45 minutes looking for the first key in the first door we checked and eventually gave up. We found all three keys in other sections of the dungeon. That section was completely pointless aside from exploration and looting, and when the mission ratings are strictly based on speed of completion, that's a hard sell.

Simplified options: There are very few options available to change. Even the audio is only a single slider for "Master Audio" that seems to reset every time you change it. I had to turn my audio down using my PCs volume mixer as the sounds of hitting monsters is extremely loud compared to the rest of the sounds in the game.

This game actually has the potential to be a lot of fun with a group of friends, but has a lot of mechanical issues preventing it from being in a playable state at the moment. I understand it is early access, but I genuinely feel like I paid for a completely different game than what I ended up playing.

For me Sinderfury is a masterpiece of an Indie Action RPG, you find yourself in a captivating Dark Fantasy world, the dungeons feel so immersive. It's evident that this game was developed with a lot of love, by gamers for gamers. The array of diverse and intriguing dungeons allows for engaging sessions without chaining you to your PC for hours on end; you can easily pace your progress and dive into thrilling rounds at your leisure.

The meticulous scaling of equipment values based on dungeon progression ensures a perfect balance – you grow stronger with each challenge, yet never overwhelmingly so. The fluidity of movement, dodging, and attacking, coupled with the flexibility of character skills, grants a liberating sense of gameplay where everything clicks seamlessly.

Even after conquering the final dungeon, Sinderfury keeps you hooked with the allure of discovering and fine-tuning additional gear, acquiring and allocating attribute points, all in preparation for the ultimate PvP showdowns against the game's fiercest competitors. The freedom to craft your own playstyle and character build ensures that battles remain dynamic and unpredictable, leaving you constantly strategizing on how to overcome the next formidable foe.

In summary, Sinderfury is a great Indie game; it's an adventure that keeps evolving, offering dungeons with secrets, possibilities for exploration, growth, and exhilarating combat. Dive in, and prepare to be spellbound by its boundless depths of excitement and challenge.

I have a whole library full of indie games, I've played a lot of games. The developer is very communicative on Discord and puts a lot of effort into the game. With the fair price of the game, you can't go wrong. Everyone should have tried the game, together we can romp around the huge city that you return to after each round, compete against each other and just have a good time.

Sinderfury is set in a dark fantasy atmosphere with dungeons to crawl through and bosses to die to. If you like ARPG's and have a couple buddies to play with, I see little to no reason not to try this game out!

Coming from the dark souls series I especially appreciate the combat style: The attacks feel meaty, but unlike in the souls games you never get stun locked by enemies. The balance between different weapon classes make the choice of one over the other situational, while still allowing favourite weapons to be viable.

I have played a fair amount of monster hunter in the past, and I was frustrated by its complicated crafting system, upgrading my gear always had me spend time not doing what I wanted to do the most: Beating the crap out of monsters. Sinderfury's combat is very close to monster hunter, but its progression is surprisingly simple in comparaison. This simplicity is what most of my favourite games share. It doesn't push overly complicated systems in your way, but still presents different ways to make your enemies bleed.

Another awesome thing about this game has got to be the soundtrack and voice acting. For this game's scale, this criteria is incredibly strong: The voice acting is clean and fitting with the theme/environment, reminding me of Diablo 4. Meanwhile the music is well crafted, especially in boss fights that light up in intensity to make the enemy more intimidating.

As of this review, I have solely been playing the early access version of the game, and thus of course I ran into bugs, but hear me out:
- Game-breaking bugs are absent: not once was I ever stuck, nor did I ever die or lose equipment for an unfair reason.
- The majority of glitches I ran into I wouldn't have discovered if I had not been actively trying to find them and report them.

I consider the overall quality and polish of this game to be totally playable, my only gripe being with the clunky inventory system. Apart from that tiny pet peeve, this game packs quite a bit of fun for $10, and if it isn't your cup of tea, you can always refund!
