11:13 paper was recycled. Break room door log shows times: 11:04, 11:08, 11:11, 11:18

Baptiste says: arrived 10:45, "quick" coffee in break room, returned to exhibition space "by the time" Devran arrived. Other two arrived after him, stayed in activities room.

Devran says: arrived before 11:00. Coffee in break room "shortly after," Oceane joins a few minutes later, Oceane goes into activities room first, then Devran goes into activities room.

Oceane says: arrived before 11:00, joins her dad for coffee in break room, then goes to activities room and stays there. "Dad was in the break room with me and then joined me here." Everything seems to line up with Devran's story.

Tonio says: arrived to fix outside door at 11:15. Devran was already there before he arrived. Seems really unlikely he'd lie about anything unless I cook up some conspiracy theory, and he doesn't have access to the inner areas.


Nobody makes any mention of Baptiste being in the coffee room at the same time as the other two. According to the door logs, the two possible scenarios are:

Everyone mis-remembers their times: Baptiste had coffee at 11:04, exited at 11:08. Devran has coffee at 11:11 and shreds the papers, then Oceane arrives at 11:18. Conflicts: Aside from everyone getting their times wrong, they say that Oceane leaves the break room FIRST, but she got there at 11:18. Tonio says Devran is already at the other door before 11:15. This seems like a very unlikely scenario based on the evidence.

Other scenario: Baptiste arrives, stays in exhibition hall. Devran arrives, has coffee at 11:04. Oceane enters at 11:08, then they move up to the activities room before 11:11 (a very fast coffee, but still no conflict so far). Someone enters at 11:11, papers are shred at 11:13, someone exits at 11:18. It seems the only person who could've done this is Baptiste. Unlike the other scenario, everything lines up except Baptiste's claim that he had coffee before 11, which he could be lying about.

There doesn't seem to be much else to go off of, because it seems I have little to no options to press for futher information, or call people out.

The biggest problem to me is that Baptiste's story says he had coffee and came back to the exhibition space BEFORE Devran arrived. This particular detail doesn't seem to match up with anyone else's info, and the door logs show no activity before 11. So... I chose Baptiste. After the story progression segment, Sergeant Adalrich says Oceane was sent to the brig.

So... why is it Oceane? Also, when I go to check the brig, it's still just Luis. Poor Luis...


e: according to this thread, someone should've sent me a message with some info about the PIN. I'm not seeing any such info in my comms logs. Do I just not get the info if I get the cases wrong, even if the astronaut and Oceane were arrested anyways?

Not played in a while but as I recall from memory: You have to think about the layout of the room and where that log you're looking at is coming from. Your first scenario can't be correct as Baptiste never crosses that scanner - he never enters the activities room, he stays in the earth museum and the door logs are being created from entries to and from the activities room to the break room. Baptiste is never logged by that particular door log mechanism.

Bearing in mind that we know that everybody initially entered the building via the earth museum due to the broken door, we know that nobody begins in that room, they have to first enter from the break room. Therefore:

11:04 - Devran enters the activities room after his coffee
11:08 - Oceane enters the activities room after her coffee
11:11 - Someone exits from the activities room to the break room
11:18 - This same person re-enters the activities room from the break room

Given Devran has a direct alibi of having been witnessed by Tomio at 11:15, he's accounted for. Oceane does not claim to have re-entered the break room, but the door logs can only be accounted for by someone who doesn't have an alibi operating the door in that time and this would enable her to exit and return to the room where she was found, no inconsistencies there. It's not Baptiste as if he'd gone to the break room, then decided to head to the activities room he'd a) have to have entered the activities room at 11:11 and have left there at 11:18, and the paper was shredded at 11:13 and b) Oceane would have seen him if she is where she claims to have been given he'd be there for 7 minutes.

Hope that makes sense.

I was really confused until I realized I must've mis-remembered something. Thankfully someone has done a playthrough so I can check, but the part I got wrong was thinking that door scanner separates the earth museum and break room, but it actually separates the break room and activities room. Suddenly, it all makes sense...

i remember I basically re-enacted people's alibis by walking where they said and counting every time a scanner would have been (or not) passed through! That's why I remembered the scanner location so clearly. because I kept running up to and through that door!
