Stutter Fix / Eliminate stuttering
It took quite a long time to get it stutter-free. i78700k, 32gb, ram 3080ti, installed on ssd, g-sync hdr screen..
Nevertheless stuttering without end.
Spotted several problems.
After a long test, it now runs buttery smooth with almost consistently 100 fps.
The following settings were required for this:
1. Run .exe as administrator. It can be found at SSD:\SteamLibrary3\steamapps\common\The Outer Worlds Spacer's Choice
2. Nvidia driver settings: Global program settings: Unlimited shader cache.
3. Nvidia driver settings: Outer Worlds Specific driver profile: Low latency mode on Ultra (although I have to say that I need a very long 10m quality HDMI 2.1 cable, which may have a different effect on you with this setting. You may need these Not the setting; "Off". You have to test it) It makes a difference whether "On" or "Ultra", try "On" and "Ultra" here if necessary. It's definitely ultra for me. Catches fast frame drops. Ignore the V-Sync related description for "Ultra" in the Nvidia driver.
4. Nvidia Driver Settings: Outer Worlds Specific Driver Profile: Limit FPS to 100
5. V-Sync off, important! With Grim Dawn, for example, you could cap the FPS with V-Sync in order not to get over the G-syny range of 120 fps. Capping FPS via the driver caused stuttering in Grim Dawn, it's the other way around here)
6. Everything in game on Ultra except:
-Screen effects: Very high
-Visual Effects: Very high
-Visibility: Very high
7. FSR Super Resolution on "Balanced" . Don't rely on quality.
Additional info: I generally have Motion Pur off, but it probably doesn't cause any stuttering
I've broken off properly to get it running on my system as soft as butter!
Is ne absolute cheek to sell something in the condition! Whole Friday night at it go!
But overall, the setting, the world, the colors (especially with OLED HDR) is fantastic..beautiful!
Playfully feels like Fallout, as expected. I love games with such Bioshock/Dishorned/Fallout settings. Gladly more of this kind of games! Back then, Fallout already had these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ micro and normal stutters. Every time you have to tinker around first! Corrosive. Otherwise super nice game. Great atmosphere!
Hope it helps someone. It would be a pity if this game didn't succeed due to technical errors.
Edit: Razer Synapse or other background processes also like to stutter. You should note that beforehand

Vielen Dank, ich werde es ausprobieren!
The game was set to Ultra settings with everything that had a toggle turned on.
I don't see why this should still be needed with equivalent or better hardware. But if it it helps who am I to piss all over it eh? (Just playing.)
