Download the original

I recently got the game on humble through their choice bundle but can't find a way to downgrade to the older version. Any solutions? I played the original version through gamepass and really enjoyed it but I don't react well to lower framerates.

Well, i guess i might subscribe to this thread just in case a "dowgrader"-method pops up.

What i still can't wrap my head around is, how there a 2 purchase options for this game for the same price, but in one of those options, you get this and the OG, but with the other option only this.

What's the point of that? Why would you ever want to go for the second option (unless you don't really have one, like with this month's Humble Choice)? Or better yet, what's the point of even having 2 separate store pages anymore and not always just include the original with Spacer's Choice?

I'm honestly more invested into figuring that out, than a way to get the OG graphics with this version.

Yeah actually mind boggling. They could just have two separate launch options and ask you which version you want to download before you start the download.

Check the steam db, the spacer choice edition only has 1 app:

and means you dont own the original base game by just that. There are another bundle that has the base game and new edition.

What exactly is the difference between the two? Was debating about getting back to this game again to try again, especially with the DLCs but I saw the original was removed and this was replacing it, but what exactly does this do that the original didn't?

The original game and its DLC still available. You can upgrade to new edition by getting upgrade DLC if you owned all the base game and DLCs.

OR just get new edition via humble bundle as it is cheaper.

The new edition has better graphic but quite GPU demanding compared to original. Personally, I like the new edition better.

Bundled with both dlcs, and new visuals. More clarity at textures, improved lights,etc.

base had level cap of 30 plus 3 more levels per DLC to max level of just 36
the spacers choice edition has level cap of 99

Legacy support for people having issue running this version.

Also, again, they have 2 store-page entries (this and the upgrade bundle on the OG's page) with the game sold for the same price, but one of those entries contains both versions, the other doesn't. So in a way, they're doing this already, just in a confusing, nonsensical way.

They have no obligation to do anything. But as customers, we are free to voice our concerns and requests, especially when not including the base version with one store entry and including it with the other makes no sense whatsoever.
