I think that is intentional, I think they limit it for multi-player.
Easier said than done. This whole playthrough was on hard, and I wasn't able to get even close to a satisfying result for my CAW. I also won every match too, no losses. Not enough. The 3 way and 4 way matches were already very cheap on hard. On elite they're gonna be several times worse. All this ever did was kill all my motivation. You say they don't want us to have maxed out CAWs? That's a mistake. I just want to grind them out like a normal person, get them maxed or as good as I want them to be. I have no plans to take them online or anything, I just want to enjoy myself, have some fun. Clearly they don't want me to have fun then.
cant even create my own outfit for Aubrey or Anna. stuck with generic outfits and only adding jackets.
Imagine grinding for hours in NBA 2k or something and losing everything. Was there any logic used in this thing at all? FFS the tag team matches force you to be controlled by AI.
I'd say if they want to make it a one-clear bonus they need to try to make some of the passives better, and especially make a reason you'd actually want more finishers/signatures when they eat at your stats and will all do the same damage as just spamming one finisher.
It could be interesting to do it that way, but it's not doing that either, so it's kindof the worst of both worlds.
Most importantly regardless of how they decide to do it, the game needs to explain how it works when you do a second run, because i'm somewhat worried of resetting CAW stats unless I make a new character, which sours repeated RTE runs.
However, you pretty much have to somehow get the perfect run and do it all in elite to get that perfect CAW you want. This isn't something just everyone can do. Singles matches, is definitely doable, but 3 ways or 4 ways are pure cancer. Oh and don't even get me started on the minigames. It's gonna be nonstop cheating from the AI... and you need to win those minigames.
As I already said, this killed all my motivation. I kinda have no desire to go back anymore. Bare bones CAW mode I can deal with, but if I can't even grind normally my CAW with the career mode I'm just done. I'm gonna use that link and see if it leads to anything from the devs, but I have my doubts. It's probably just gonna be a generic bot response that I get.
Anyway, it feels like a respec or some such. But much more interesting than paying certain currency or drinking a potion. :P
I mostly sim & book matches while keeping a record of wins losses. So I want to be able to book matches against all types of wrestlers. Where's the fun in it if they all suck & get knocked out by a weak-looking Orange Cassiday or Adam Cole Baybay? I like having absurd matches against Shao Kahn vs Goku (where the 5 foot nothing Goku destroys Kahn in less than a minute) or Omni Man vs the world. The AEW roster is already filled with jobbers anyway so why add more?
Nobody really plays competitive online wrestling games anyway. I'm not aware of such a scene so the prize pot must be low or non-existant. Balancing a wrestling game just sounds absurd to me, as if they shared the same fanbase as Fighting games. They don't because they don't play anything alike. Wrestling games revolve around stats & the combat in most wrestling games are qte animations that play itself. Wrestling games are closer to rpgs than they are to fighters.
In Fighting games, you actually have to learn to git gud. In every wrestling game including the widely "heralded" Fire Pro Wrestling, the action always revolves around stats that you level up, just like an RPG. The genre is not skill-based at all so it's joke to even pretend that it is when the fighting engine doesn't allow for such structure.
