Game is a masterpiece.
Thanks for your cringe thread.
Losers. LMAO
Indeed, you are correct. At the moment, a bit more than 40% got to the Act3, I didn't expect it, but there it is. I have no idea what JRPGs you are talking about, but 40% is quite a success. Developers will, of course, adopt the successfull model en mass and another genre will become unplayable for me. Oh, well, what can you do.
So a bunch of people think they are playing a hard game because of all the "git gud" spam out there and then feel really good when they trivialize it and beat everything without effort.
For your average gamer if they get stuck or frustrated they're gonna look things up, get a build from online, and then basically have the game beat itself from there on out. Or they'll just use one of the many powerful common sense builds. Like Auto Death Bomb lol. That's literally just 1+1 and most anyone would be curious to see how good it is and how funny it is.
Also, I wouldn't say, even if you don't like it, that it's fair to compare it to shovelware, it is still unique enough to be far from that.
But those points aside, and to preface this, I mean no disrespect at all in any of this... But why do people dislike Act 3 so much? I guess I'm just struggling to understand the difference in taste... And also maybe it's because I spoiled the game for myself and so I expected it; but it seems like that's the hook. That's what sets the game apart, gives it it's flavor and uniqueness, at least as far as story goes. I think it would have been a weird story if they ended in Act 2 and never explained Verso's origin.
Edit: I will say they probably handled Sophie poorly.
Steam has 95% of 71005 all time reviews. 5% would be 3550.
Assuming, for the sake of argument, that everyone who hasn't gotten to the end of Act II rated the game positively, and ALL of the 3550 negative reviews are within the 40% that beat the Paintress, that's 3550 out of 28402 or 12.5%.
At most, 12.5% didn't like the game because of the end of Act II. Again pretending none of those reviews were from prior to end of Act II, or for any other reasons.
